You can't blame them, they pushed the Blues to some extent but given that Carlton would have got him in the PSD anyway at least they didn't get him for free. If Warnock slipped through to the PSD and Carlton got him (which they would have) then Freo would have been the biggest laughing stock.

Freo at least did marginally better than just pick 24 straight swap.

It was always going to be a battle of who would hold out the longest with Carlton always having the upper hand due to the possibility of him walking into the PSD. Fremantle got a marginally better deal than the 24th pick always on offer.

To think the Freo got bent over is ridiculous.

Bent over would have meant loosing him for nothing and him still ending up at Carlton.
