The trade of Christensen for pick no.21 is now complete. Some suggestions in the media are that this pick may be moved on further by us, so the question is....

*who will that be for?

or

*who do we hope to draft?

What do you guys reckon about packaging up pick 21, 14 and Varcoe and really having a crack at getting a solid midfielder? We need a mature body in there now that Bundy is gone, someone around the 22-26 age bracket.

Or just hold onto our picks and hope wells selects some gems again?

With all the players moving out being midfield types, I think we need to bring several mid-types in.
If we lose our best two picks plus a mid in Varcoe for just one player, then we need to restock our midfield with late picks and rookies.

I would like a player, but I wouldn't give up both picks.

I like your first idea.

Was really hoping we would have a shot at Greenwood, but then this bs 5 club trade thing came up and now it won't happen.

unless someone else wants out, don't think there are many options.

I think something bizarre will happen. On Friday at last minute, we will trade pick 21 for a player :eek::eek::eek:!!

And said player would most likely be seen to be worth pick 60 by any other club .... just to annoy the heck out of fans even more.

But the 5 team trade involved Bundy and pick 21? Wouldn't that stuff up the trade??

That's what I said it won't happen.

Before the 5 trade popped up, it was just us dealing with Melbourne separately (then the Pies got thrown in coz they're tight)
Then we had the Lions separately, but because Beams couldn't be done, more clubs had to be bought in.

If this talk about trading pick 14 & 21 for 10 is accurate isn't it more likely to be for use in another trade? If they had a particular draftee in mind who they thought would not be there at 14, how can they possibly be sure he won't go before 10?
It just doesn't seem like a Wells thing to do.
But I can't imagine who would be a possible trade for 10...

If the beams deal falls over and that is possible since Brisbane are not only dealing with Collingwood but their ego as well. I would be happy to give up 21 for Greenwood personally.

Forgive my ignorance with what's happened today (actually had to do work at work ) - this potential trade with Adelaide of picks 14 & 21 for 10, wasn't there talk over the weekend of Adelaide trying to use pick 10 in a trade with Melbourne for Trengrove to trump the Tigers pick of 12. Or has that talk all gone cold and nothing happening on that front anymore?

Keep the pick or trade it for multiple picks in the 30's.

No doubt we'll take a player at 21 anyway who is projected in the 30's.

Is Ben Newton from PA still a consideration?

He would be our 3rd rounder not 21.

I would look to trade 21 for greenwood but is seems unlikely.we will go to the draft.
