This really should have been dealt with by now.

The Pies play on Thursday night, if Varcoe is suspended and we decide to take it to the tribunal the hearing would probably be Tuesday night. Then if we appeal that the appeal would be Wednesday night, that's a bit rushed.

If the AFL wants to play footy on Thursday nights' it has to adjust the MRP results for teams involved.

Would Make Sense but AFL don’t do smart things Often.

They want to do it at the Same Time. Guess the MRP Panel don’t want to work on Sunday

Hawthorn star forward Cyril Rioli says that he will back-up Collingwood defender Travis Varcoe after he was reported on the weekend for front-on contact.

If he does he'll need to be honest and come out and say that he ducked his head into Varcoe in an attempt to draw the free kick. The article I read on the AFL website says that Rioli just mentions "it was just a high bump, there wasn't much in it" - he'll need to do better than that to support Varcoe IMO, the MRP are so unpredictable anything could happen

We got a tough trot from the umpires on Friday, and this report is just symptomatic of the problem. Instead of being sucked in by the stagers, the umpires should be stamping out the deliberate slowing of play that the 50 m penalty was initially introduced to deal with.

The amount of shovelling action that gets passed off as quick hands by Hawthorn was ridiculous

Even the fine is over kill here, Rioli should offer to pay it for faking injury at the time.

Good news anyway, and Elliott got away with his little punch to the guts of Mitchell, everyone loved seeing that, even the MRP.:drunk:

Mitchell should have been reported for staging and going down quicker than a $2 hooker
