Dont know to much about him to be fair. Whats his role at WC ?? Also what previous business and/or footy experience does he have and is he tied to us in any way. Like a former supporter for instance ??
Funnily enough as a junior he was the kid Westies traded to Port for Sean Rehn!

In Adelaide he was a lawyer, went in to player management and ended at WCE has general manager of footy ops.

I'm sure there is more to be filled in but that's all I know.

This post comes with a fair helping of 'if you believe McDermott':

* Ex - player manager (also looked after a couple of assistant coaches)
* Adelaide boy
* Lawyer - extensive experience in property and commercial law
* WCE List Manager
* WCE Footy Ops Manager
* Played footy for Westies and Port

From the eagles board (2010):
"His predominant legal expertise is in hospitality, business transactions and property development.

He has extensive experience in the acquisition and sale of commercial property and businesses, both licensed and unlicensed.

He acts for many proprietors of both large and small licensed premises."

Sounds alright if it is to be true. And if we have its good to see we've gone with an outsider.

On the surface, it looks like an appointment worth considering.

He's got a head for the deal, based on law career and player agent career.

He's got experience in property, at a time when we should be looking for a home closer to the CBD.

He understands footy.

Having lived here, he knows the weird Adelaide fishbowl when it comes to footy.

He's worked at a club whose administration is respected.

And, most importantly, HE'S NOT FROM THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.

Vozzo looks a nice safe choice, who would probably be an improvement.

But I'd be a little concerned about all these leaks, and rucci's assertions that he had already been interviewed before applications close.

What's the point of another sham process?

Can we trust Rucci on this? His coverage of our coach selection and Tippettgate doesn't fill me with confidence that ha has anymore inside information than we do.

True. But now McDermott is saying virtually the same thing

Vozzo is a known quantity, if we wanted him (for right or wrong) then we didn't need to pretend otherwise. This stuff about his family moving doesn't make it sound like he was an applicant, but rather we head hunted him beforehand.

Selling pubs wouldn't make him a business heavyweight, but he does look tohave good all round footy ops knowledge. if that's what we think is important.

Nothing wrong with interviewing candidates before applications close, just speeds up the process.

It's the leaks I don't like - assuming they're true of course.

I don't know Craig personally, but I do know one of his closest associates.

Despite all of the excellent things that people say about him, I'm just not sure that we have to take a punt on an untried CEO, but we could do a lot worse.

Has a ruthless streak, which is just what the doctor ordered, and to answer someone's question earlier in this thread, he is most definitely NOT a Crows supporter.

Yep - he was pretty strong on it too.

Apparently he was initially out of contention because his family would not leave Perth, but all of a sudden that's changed and he is now "no 1 candidate"

Given that Vizzo was or is WCE list Manager could it be that he is in line for the List Manager role and not the CEO role?

He is already noble level, so in short no - he wouldn't take a demotion as he is no harps.
