Actually got elected with a bare 15% of registered voters support

just over 2% could be arsed voting for the government candidate

Disgusting what happen there with the foster kids, goes to show the lengths people will go to silence opinion. Good on Nigel Farage, UKIP and those poms wanting their sovereignty back.

If Britain did get independence from Europe, would Scotland be so keen to be independent ?

And if it did become independent, would it opt to stay in Europe ?

Historically, Scotland has been more aligned with European powers than with England, or at least as often - when it was independent

Many Conservative voters despise Cameron. He is just another metropolitan elite type (despite living in the country) who surrounds himself with a like minded set of cronies.

Didnt help himself by calling UKIP supportes loonies and closet racists. Their policies on crime, immigration, Europe, grammar schools etc are far more in line with the population than Camerons.

Also interestingly the Lib Dems appear to be in all sorts of trouble. They can no longer rely on Muslim support for their Iraq war opposition and the student vote has been lost as well.

Poms with their knickers in a twist about the Johnny Foreigners at the EU would help the Scottish independence cause I imagine.

The Daily Mail has published an opinion piece by a Tory MP urging Cameron to cut a deal with UKIP to keep Labour out of No. 10.

Reminds me of that exchange in Yes, Prime Minister regarding who reads which newspaper in the UK:

Hacker: Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers: the Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by people who actually do run the country; the Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; the Financial Times is read by people who own the country; The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country; and The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.
Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun?
Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big ****.

Holy s**t. Despite a huge smear campaign, UKIP won!

Clegg is toast. Cameron should do the right thing and bring forward the In/Out referendum. Or even better, resign.

Wow. To quote renowned U.K band Iron Maiden, "Lucifer smiles, looks on and waits..."

Yes but as the Iron Maiden said -

Europe will be stronger precisely because it has France as France, Spain as Spain, Britain as Britain, each with its own customs, traditions and identity. It would be folly to try to fit them into some sort of identikit European personality...it is ironic that just when those countries such as the Soviet Union, which have tried to run everything from the centre, are learning that success depends on dispersing power and decisions away from the centre, there are some in the Community who seem to want to move in the opposite direction. We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain, only to see them re-imposed at a European level with a European super-state exercising a new dominance from Brussels.

For those that missed it here is a debate between Clegg and Farage. Clegg came out of it badly.

Embarrassing for France. Far right National Front getting nearly a quarter of the vote :drunk:

Interested if UKIP achieve much in next year's House of Commons election. They always peak in the EU elections where "* the EU" is all they need, there's proportional representation and government isn't on the line.

Disaster for the Liberal Democrats. Their voters have left for Labour. Polled fifth behind the Green Party. They better think of something fast.

So the get out of europe guy gas a poncy french name ad the pro europe guy has a down to earth yorkshire one ?

Home rule for yorkshire

Heh. Witty reply, and relevant I guess:thumbsu:

Good, get lost the uk.
Since you don't any of your companies anymore.
And throw them out of Uefa too, would be bliss..
