Bit of a shuffle of the decks.

Wayne Hinton has stepped down from the fitness advisor role, replaced by Tom Bergin.

The Werribee training group has moved from Soldiers Reserve to Westbourne School (want to come back OTP?)

Whilst this poster is taking a step back this season and umpiring lower grade footy, due to a recent health crisis and not being able to train a lot this season coming.

Hope the health is now okay, Paz.

Further proof of how good the development of umpires is at the VAFA with more umpires on the VFL Developmental Panel as at this week:

Kit Harvey (Development Field)

Ryan Robertson (Development Field)

Andre Gianfagna*(Development Field)

Mitchel Jones (Development Boundary)

Josh Prince (Development Goal)

And here is the full list of those umpiring in the VFL, TAC Cup and AFL who have come through VAFA ranks:

Shocked to be typing this but maybe your health will improve after March 31st.

Interesting to note that the number of goal umpires to be appointed to games will again grow this season.

At pre-season training, there has been another 9 goal umpires start. Throw in the return of 2 more and suddenly we are talking over 70 appointed goal umpires. Needless to say that BJ as goal umpires advisor/coach is impressed.

So much so that on Thursday night's practice match at Brindisi St, all new umpires are attending to observe alongside BJ and a few of us "oldtimers".

4 of the group have come from the Werribee area. That makes 7 in total (for a bit of history, I was the first to do so in 1997).

Ring and ask. Show some aggots!

The EYE
The clubs need to know so they can roster their umps. They pay huge affiliation fees and expect a service to be provided. That doesn't include ringing the VAFA for a service that should be provided. And I doubt the VAFA would appreciate the influx of calls.

Think before you post.
