Wow just wow. I was a bit like you. Studied the original book and subsequent movie in University and was a bit meh about the first movie (although it was infinitely better then the movie from 2001). This trailer though gives me hope. We could be in for an epic movie series. The best thing about it would be they would not be tied down to specific actors. Thus the series could go on for a long time.

Planet of the Apes looks great. It's rare that such a movie (or series) shows any kind of complexity, but this has me excited.
