Seems like even thru we won today afl.com has decided to paint a completely different picture :drunk:
Brisbane Lions forwards Jordan Lisle and Jackson Paine spearheaded their side to a 22-point win over the UWS Giants.

Zak Williams, Matt Buntine and Kristian Jaksch were in the best players for the Giants, while No.1 draft pick Tom Boyd kicked two goals.

Match Report

The UWS GIANTS completed a clean sweep for the club with a 22-point win over the Brisbane Lions reserves at Giffin Park.

Trailing at every change, the UWS GIANTS stormed home in the final term to record the first of two historic away wins.

It’s the first time the UWS GIANTS have beaten Brisbane reserves since joining the NEAFL competition.

UWS GIANTS coach Brett Hand said his side wrestled back control of the match with ferocious pressure and good ball use.

“I was quite happy with how we finished the game off, especially after Brisbane came out hard early,” Hand said.

“To win after trailing for most of the match shows we have belief in our system and the ability to withstand pressure.”

Hand said midfielder Mark Whiley was dominant through the midfield, while Zac Williams successfully curbed the influence of Lions veteran, Ash McGrath.

“Whiley had ten clearances and carried us across the line in the last quarter,” Hand said.

“Williams was outstanding on Ash McGrath, he had a job to take him out of the game and was dangerous himself going forward with 26 touches.

“It was also great to see Sam Reid lead by example and Jon Giles was simply excellent in ruck.”

There was a spread of individual goal-kickers with Liam Sumner and Tom Boyd leading the charge with two apiece.

The UWS GIANTS have a bye this week but have elected to play Swans reserves in a practice match at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere so I'll put it here

Swans 11.5 71
UWS 7.16 58.

Goals: Membrey 5 Robinson 2 Marsh Perris Dobson Wetzlar
Goals: Dylan Addison, Jonathan Giles 2, Jesse Mudge (top up), Sam Reid, Jacob Townsend

You guys should have won but had terrible kicks at goal, especially considering that the majority of them were set shots. Giles, Addison and Lamb were the biggest culprits with 3 behinds each.
Barrett and Lobb didn't play.
Lamb started in the midfield and was creative across half forward despite his aforementioned 3 behinds.
Addison was on fire in the first quarter when he took 3 marks in the forward 50 but only converted one of them. Much quieter after that.
Stewart off a wing, can't remember anything memorable from him.
Williams off half back provided good run, Sumner mostly forward. Townsend in the midfield and was one of your better players with his clean ball use. O'Rourke was average playing on-ball
Giles spent more time up forward then in the ruck.
Whiley had a good battle with Robinson and broke even IMHO but blotted his copybook when he dropped a chest mark in the defensive 50 which directly led to a Swans goal.
McCarthy started back on Membrey but pushed forward in the last quarter.
Plowman had a size mismatch playing on our resting ruck but didn't concede any marks inside 50; moved to Membrey in the last quarter.

And we get to do this again next week, this time for real!

You guys need a goalkicking coach. All the games against UWS this year you've had shocking conversion.

Woeful kicking for goal kept the swans in it in the third quarter, but really we were on top throughout. Last quarter run away with it. But yes. Goal kicking accuracy is a major concern.

I would also have thought that during his time off Toby might have worked on his kicking skills. Obviously not.:(

Williams a chance to come in for Shaw, as it looks like he will miss a few? Williams didn't do anything wrong to lose his spot this year, just a good sign of increased depth. I think he can play and play well in a similar role across half back.

Who did Plowman play on? It seems that the Sydney key Forwards were quieter than usual.

On Plowman, I would love to see him play a more attacking role half back, but seems he is destined to be a bit more dour in his primary role..

Saw a guy in a lions jumper getting on the train as we were getting off, wandered down to the ground to see us pull ahead by 100 points and thought - no wonder he was leaving - current margin 128 into time on in the third:eek:
