Victoria Election - 29 November 2014

I'd think Morwell is a smokey for Labor to pick up. They actually held it from 1970-2006, and I'd imagine that the fire earlier this year would swing a lot of voters.

I'd also add Frankston to Slax's predictions at this stage.

Bentleigh and Mordialloc I think should stay Libs. Same with FHill.

Bentleigh was a cliff hanger last time.

I live not far from there and the demographics are changing. I'd be surprised if it stayed Liberal. Definitely a seat for the multi-bet :)

Ir is I agree and also though it is much more of a liberal area as well in parts.

Napthine press conference this morning. Victorians! You are not buying enough scratchies!
Intralot handing back their licence to Tattersalls, now that is news.
Well done, lets find more ways to gamble.
Speak to Daniel Andrews as he handed them the licence.

Victorian Liberal Party moves tostop Greens’ power grab

THE Liberal Party is set to drastically reduce the chances of the Greens winning a lower-house seat at the November 29 Victorian election, in a bid to stop the minor party holding the balance of power.

Premier Denis Napthine is set to announce that the party will direct preferences against the Greens in several inner-city seats, in a move that would all but end the minor party’s chances of winning a Legislative Assembly seat.

While strategists will leave open their options until next month, senior Liberal sources have said that there is “no option’’ but to oppose the Greens in preference deliberations due to the views of the Liberal rank and file.

Preferencing against the Greens would hinder the Greens winning the inner-city seat of Melbourne, held by Labor but previously the recipient of considerable resources from the Greens’ machine.

The press conference on ABC News 24 was a joke. Does every LNP press conference go cookie cutter with 'Labor made things a mess and we are fixing the mess'?

Cover of the Hun was even worse. Guess we now know who Rupe wants to win.

Predicting Libs to lose 8 seats to give ALP a 14 seat majority.

Seats to change
Wendouree
Carrum
Bentleigh
Frankston
Mordialloc
Forest Hill
Prahran
South Barwon

Possibles to also change
Burwood
Bayswater
Eildon
Mount Waverley

Will also be worth watching Euroa which is a new seat and nominally National but Libs are fielding a candidate.

ALP to lose if Libs preference Greens
Melbourne
Richmond
Brunswick

A couple of seats out Gippland way might be interesting after this:

Given the Gippsland Lines reputation of being the worst in the state for on time running and the shutdown of last year might just throw out a surprise.

Probably doesn't help when intralot doesn't advertise much. After the whole "The luck factory" Adverts there was very little.

Not sure how Napthine is going to counter the return of technical schools.

It would then be 25 years since Kirner removed them and created the secondary college model. A long overdue return, which will bring about (in an ideal sense), much better educated children in the likes of trades training..to the point of even more mechanics and teenagers understanding how to run and maintain their vehicles (go around...how many children do you see who don't even know how to change a flat tyre!)

Admire Andrews' guts in campaigning in front of bright red posters instead of wishy washy red highlights on me too blue posters.

Time to stop being apologetic for being socialist.

i hereby declare we are no longer insulted by being called lefty or socialist in bigfooty. Next time you call me that I'll thank you for the compliment
