Yeah and also tactics. Better to have the ball up the other end of the field then to drop it 20 out from your own line.
 
To someone who doesn't know the rules it looks like there's a rule that they have to kick it in certain parts of the field

I used to wonder the same thing. Its about territory. Its not uncommon to be penalised for not releasing after a tackle, running it out runs that risk.

Plus if the kick can put the opp under pressure you can try and do the same to them.

Its the safe option. Think I've got that right
