Got yourselves an absolute ripper guys.

One of the best coaches I've ever had the witness seeing.

Don't underestimate what he did with St Bedes.

Ammos is just about the best football under the VFL, to get three consecutive flags in a promotion system, is the first time it has ever happened in the competitions history, the C Grade premiership side was essentially the same as the A grade one....

Beveridge's achievements far outweigh McCartney's at Ocean Grove etc.

Probably the best development coach I've seen also, unbelievably good with the young guys.

Reasons for not coaching last year; has an MBA and an important position within the ATO which he put on hold temporarily with his stint at Collingwood I believe....
Appreciate the info! :thumbsu:

Thanks for the heads up - particularly the bolded bit - very, very impressive.

I lived in Mentone during those flags and got to see plenty of the Tigers, and let me tell you, Bevvo is a ripper coach and an even better bloke.

The other thing he did at St. Bede's apart from winning premierships was instill lasting cultural change around the footy club that has continued on even though he left the place several years ago now.

He's the sort of fella you want around the place when you're within touching distance of a flag.

Great news for us, Welcome Luke.

Some other assistant coaching news in here. http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2011/10/03/watters-closes-as-st-kilda-coach/

Hawthorn assistant Leon Cameron is believed to have withdrawn his interest in the Saints senior appointment, while another Hawks specialist coach Adam Simpson is also considered too raw yet to be a head coach.

It appears Cameron and Simpson have remained firmly committed to continuing as vital assistants to Hawks head coach Alastair Clarkson as Hawthorn continue their mounting premiership drive within the next season or two.

Simpson, 35, retired as a North Melbourne great just two years back after 306 games and is understood to have committed to at least another full season alongside Clarkson before sincerely seeking a senior appointment.

Simpson could still interview with Saints officials.

Cameron was the original front-runner to replace Eade at the Bulldogs, until Dogs management pulled somewhat of a surprise with appointment of highly regarded assistant Brendan McCartney from Essendon.

great news (from reading this thread and comments on Bevo's exploits).

I think its has also been great our development of coaches (kudos to clarko), sure we want folks to stay at Hawthorn but like any workplace you want to attract talent and develop them. The best measure is just how "wanted" the hawks coaching staff are out in the market place.
