More like 'What do you mean wanted?'

I don't know if Vossy ever gave him a whack, but I would like to think he did.

Sort of related: I was having a drink at the Hilton circa 2006/7 and the Lions were in town for a game. Noticed that Aker did not socialise with any of the other players. Instead was talking to an older couple (parents maybe?).

Seanybruz posted this a few pages back. Carry blued with everyone.

What a great interview with Ken & Michael. Cant help but be excited about this appointment and what he will bring to our Club. Off to listen to it again :)

Voss impressed the hell out of me in that interview. Noticed that cRowie was very quiet - outclassed much?
Also interested to hear that the club were in his ear even before Phil Walsh was definitely going. KT, Ken etc. continue to impress with how they run things down there.

Does anyone know whether Voss was approached by any other clubs for an assistant role? I think McDermott asked him that but he hedged the question.

The funny thing is Voss recently talked about Carr having him in a headlock. Sure no surprises, but funny the first clash photo I see is this one.

Was approached by Roo to go through the interview process for their senior position but knocked it back for obvious reasons (lack of support, poor way they treated their outgoing coach) funny that we get the champ as midfield manager after he turned a higher role down with them.

I was impressed by his interview on AA, he just says all the right things & sounds extremely enthusiastic about the job at hand, working with Ken & a talented group of players plus the possibility of success going forward.

How did i get that one wrong ?? Maybe because i detested Browny more than any other player.
Memory does that. I 'remember' things occasionally that turn out wrong - you can't check everything. I had clear memories of being at Tredders break-out game against Carlton at Footy Park and posted about it once. Except the game was in Melbourne and I wasn't there for it. :straining:

Browny was a total thug in his early years.
He did mellow in his later years, but his footballing mongrel was gone by then.

The days when we battled it out with Brisbane in the early 2000's - 2004, my seats were southern end, almost up on the boundary, directly behind the goals. I saw a lot of Brisbane and how Jonothan played his footy. Lets just say that a lot of his marks were not Warren Tredrea esque, and involved gouging, scragging and Winfield Dump tactics. Champion ??

Geez some of that mid 70's sh*t was real sh*t :D, what next, some disco desperado putting up Plastique Bertrand performing Ca Plane Pour Moi.

Don't knock Plastic, man.

Here's a link to that ghastly song Mick - I understand that you are somewhat "technology challenged" and hence need help with things like this - lol - so here you go - didn't you bop around to this song at the discos in the 1970s?:p:D

Sensational stuff CS, and yes I did go to discos, but not for the `music'. ;)

Actually I can see a bit of you in P B, your blond era of course, not the ranga you are today.

Just watched the presser. Fantastic. Put aside Voss for a sec, how good was Ken? I struggle to understand how such a straight shooter can make you feel so pumped and excited.

was big of Ken to acknowledge that he is excited to bounce ideas off Voss, because Voss has 3 more years’ experience as head coach. I think Vossy gushed a little.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Carry did something to deserve that headlock.

And that's why we loved him :D

My favourite Josh Carr moment was probably that day where Jared Brennan headbutted him.

How's vossy talking about how a coaches attributes (as a past player) can rub off onto their existing playing group. Then talking about his and Carr's style rubbing off on to the boys.

It scares me to think how good Ollie Wines' can be under these two.

He was suspended for something like 8 games in 2004 and served 5 games suspension in 2005 for the 04 GF. Has had other suspensions too. Would have likely been deregistered if he'd played under the current deregistration rules.
