Amy Cornes be like "Ollie who?"
If Amy Cornes had relations and then carried a 'seed of Port player' for a future father son possibility would it be the final nail in her father's coffin?

Yep, and as was suggested in the article, the best way for him to do that is to have a quiet drink or two with dinner once a week or so with some mates instead of putting a hard ban on it altogether.
I fully understand and support minimising alcohol intake for elite athletes during training times (i.e. any time but their break) but having the odd drink or two has no ill-effects, and is probably a bonus for the social aspect.

In a decent enough environment with a more positive outlook, he may not even feel the need for a drink or two.

It sounded like other aspects of his life (campaigner saga) were weighing on him, on top of his waning interest in football were the triggers for him seeking to 'take the edge off'.

Fit body, good people surrounding him, new environment.. football becomes fun again.

I would think that there would be 1/1000 odds that Ryder gets a ban. 1/10,000 odds a ban longer then 3-5 games.

The odds they actually ban Ryder , for more then a cpl of games and lobbe gets injured during that same stretch... I'm not too worried.

As for Dixon I would only ruck him at ball ups around the ground where all he has to do is stand under the ball as the umpire throws it up rather then run and jump.

Even if they gave Ryder an extended ban , since port were not the offending club I would think that if it was lengthy , and we had a lengthy injury to lobbe we would have grounds to apply to add a player mid season. Unusual circumstances.

I really doubt this would happen as we haven't been blindsided here. We knew the risks and we've had two off seasons to prepare ourselves for the unlikely event of a Ryder ban, so if we're caught short (pardon the pun) then we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.

I agree with Ford here. If the worst case scenario transpires then Butcher gets busy smashing into oppo ruckman.

Good to see Dixon and a few Port guys out socialising. Dunno whether I should offer to buy a round!

Yeah there was a pic on insta of Gray, Dixon and a few others with Warney. Fitting in well is big Dix.

Guess which is the real one. Not Madame Tussauds finest hour, I would venture to say.

The one on the right looks more like Matt Goss from Bros.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to bang away on top of a coffin. Not even if Graham was laying inside it.

The dude is a champion....

Sat in front of me yesterday at the cricket with Boaky, Robbie and Cam.

I ended up being that guy and asking for a photo to which he was too happy to oblige... I wished him well for the season and he was appreciative.

I wanted to bail him up for a while but restrained myself.

I was the same at the pub. When the players are there having a drink and a meal they probably don't want to be hounded and bailed up.

My highlight however was two girls sitting at one of the tables who saw Dixon and decided they wanted to have a photo given it was a footballer. I don't think they really had any idea who he was but one of the bar staff told them he was a football player. They then decided well we need someone to take a photo of us both with this Charlie Dixon bloke. The lucky thing is that the bar girl took the photo for them. Because a minute before that the girls said " Ohh lets just get the bloke over there to take a photo of us with Dixon" Poor Cam O'Shea not getting the Charlie Dixon recognition and almost getting stuck with camera duties. Not sure how he would have taken that.:)

Ahh Cameron O'shea, living the life of Justin Hamilton. 'Hey guy sitting next to a famous person can you take this photo please?'
