Port has heaps of star players

Exactly. They were predominantly there too when Primus was there. New coach and what do you know! A team full of jets.

Make no mistake, no matter how good your list is it will never succeed under an awful coach like Buckley.

If mick malthouse can coach a premiership team anyone can, including Buckley.

Of course Malthouse is a terrible coach now that he has left the Pies. He has only coached 3 premierships, what a disgrace!:drunk: Take your rose coloured glasses off pal. Malthouse was 5 times the coach Buckley is. Sure, Mick is past it now and is struggling but he was a great coach. Had you playing a game style that everyone was desperately trying to copy and had a midfield packed with stars who all wanted to play for him.

You really have no idea what your talking about. Are you new to the game? Perhaps you should chat to some ex players and learn a little.

Anyone coaching for as long as malthouse will eventually win premierships, it's just basic mathematical odds. His career win/loss ratio is nothing spectacular, behind Buckley even. He just hung around long enough, had a champion team assembled for him by Derek Hine, and reaped the benefits. By all rights they should have won in 2012 as well but he screwed it up.

You hang around by being a good coach buddy. Coaches do not just "hang around". Ask Mark Neeld.

You are really displaying a lack of knowledge on how important coaches are. They are HUGELY important. Have you never had a conversation with an ex or current AFL player or even a state league player? They all say this.

You can have a team full of Abletts and Franklins but if they don't play to structures and get up for their coach with a great game plan then you will never win a flag. Plain and simple. Flags don't just happen.

I do like that winning a premiership has nothing to do with the coach, but not winning the big dance again is all on him.:drunk:

This is a cracking get for you guys.

Personally I didn't think McKenna did THAT BAD of a job, but Eade will be able to deliver to you a professionalism and belief that you belong with the elite.

Might actually get him that flag he's missing as well.

Remember, Eddie's point was that he wanted compensation for 'head hunting costs'.

Brian Cook (the Geelong CEO) said he would have sought compensation if one of his contracted football excecs was poached late in the planning process for the 2015 year and said Coll were perfectly entitled to compensation for Eade.

There is no head hunting costs associated with Balmes role at Geelong. It's an internal promotion.

Matthew Lappin set to join Gold Coast as an assistant under Rocket. Will take Bomber Riley's position.

Mind you, this is from the same guy who said Gary is gonna have his arm amputated, so who knows. ;)

Read this as Nigel Lappin at first and got super excited .
Not a bad get if true. We won't have to pay Collingwood any compensation this time will we?
Also, what was Riley's actual position? Assistant coach or a specialist (forward/defender) coach?

Forward Coach.

Herald sun mrlbourne are saying.. Matthew Lloyd is in discussions with Collingwood about a 1day a week goal kicking coach after making a pitch to Buckley and RODNEY EADE about helping the troubled spearhead Cloke.
Could our man EADE talk old mate Jonothan Brown into coming down to the SUNS once a week to work with our forward line.. About goal kicking and leading patterns..?

Mark Thompson is now unemployed. What a turn around from being in a position where he seemed to be able to choose his own club.

funny hey, I just looked at the Western Bulldogs website, and whist bugger all has been mentioned about him becoming the Bulldogs coach over the past few weeks, now after todays news that he wont be with Essendon in any capacity, posters are all over the chances of Bomber becoming their coach,,,!!!!
