Keep telling yourself that
You're telling me that no other clubs pushed the boundaries ? Keep telling yourself that. Ess were rightfully punished for poor governance, but to think they were the only ones ? Fantasy. And let's make an example of a big financially strong club. Ess fitted the bill.

Essendon took a hammering because they almost certainly cheated and at the very least kept woefully inadequate records. Essendon have deserved the hammering they have been given.

Where have I said Essendon didn't deserve what they got ? What you're missing is because it was Essendon and not a smaller club, who better to whack ? Original point stands, Essendon took a smashing for 10 other clubs.

The original point seems to be a theory developed by Essendon fans to feel better about what ther club did. Everyone else is doing it, yet there seems nothing to suggest other clubs have started a program anywhere near the level of Essendons

feel better ? Our problem was using Dank, afl public enemy no.1, with good reason. Our shredder went into overdrive, along with 10 other clubs.

I think your problem was systematically injecting your players. Anyway - we aren't going to agree and we have the HTB to discuss Essendons cheating

Dogs get treated like crap. Forgotten about probably since they entered the vfl. Small support base even though they try harder then any team for members, kicked out of western oval, worst area for a national sporting team. Horrid fixtures and not a lot of air time. Not since Fitzroy has a team been cast aside like the doggies.
But a good stretch of finals appearances, a premiership or 2 in the next 10 yrs should see a strong footscray.
Even a redevelopment of western oval for 4 games a year vs interstaters

As great as this would be, it's not feasible. Mostly because we can't afford it, which comes back to the absolutely s**t Etihad deal which causes us to constantly lose money, or make a very slim profit.

What about a shared stadium with north and the saints . that could work

WC or Freo. Get a terrible travel schedule despite alreaady having to travel for 10 games. Launceston, Geelong, Alice Springs, you name it.

Abundance of shitty 6 day breaks and Sunday afternoons, plus lack of games on the MCG

The equalisation mess, on the back of WC and Freo largely funding WA football, despite it producing talent for the league as a whole, but especially the expansion clubs

Where Freo probably have the edge, is dodgy moves like the Geelong final or brutal umpiring match to match, even when at home
