This is the Post of the Year. Lol, keep following the pack, come back when you actually have formed your own opinion.
Hurn is a match winner just with his kick, laughable post.
Righto.

I actually think he's a perfect vice-captain and a good co-captain (alongside a more vocal/media friendly counterpart) but not as a solo captain.

With regard to the match winner comment, he was dominant today until he was tagged and kept to two touches in Q3. How many other games has he single handedly won for us over the years, and how much impact does he have when he gets tagged?

The captains of the top sides are predominantly contested specialists who can be relied on in big games. Hodge, Jack, Selwood, Boak, etc.

There's been a couple of successful KPP captains, and I don't mind a full back or centre half forward general like Pavlich or Scarlett, but Hurn isn't very vocal on or off the field, isn't especially consistent when tagged, and can be injury prone.

He's a jet and I think he'd be a decent choice for co-captain for a couple of years, but still contend that you want your best players to be in the middle and ideally you want one of them to be your captain.

hurn is the best kick in the afl. we should base our entire game plan around freeing him up and getting the ball in his hands

today it looked we did that and it worked a treat.
