Who's afraid of Rupert Murdoch? The end of an era.

Remember when News Corp types claimed Murdoch would never interfere editorially...

Campbell Newman is keen to blame everyone else for his failures in govt, and therefore his authorised biography reveals this info:
A number of News Corporation insiders have said that Murdoch made it clear he wasn't happy with the Courier Mail's coverage of the LNP government, and he let Fagan know about it at that April [2013] editor's meeting. Fagan was defensive and told his boss the paper's coverage was a reflection of the Government's culling of 14,000 public servants. Murdoch reportedly leaned in and pointedly told Fagan the premier should've sacked thousands more of them.
Fagan and his editor were sacked two months later. The Sunday Mail editor was also moved along.

The most interesting thing about the behaviour of Abbott and Newman is that they're clearly talking to the right-wing conservatives still, comforting them by saying they were all completely right and society is wrong. There is no inclination to make the LNP more politically viable.

You see the same thing in America but they don't have compulsory voting so there is more of a chance that rhetoric will 'get out the vote' and give them some power. To see this approach in Australia suggests they're bowing down to their donors, rather than facing the political realities of our country.

Newman shouldn't of sacked all those public servants. He should of let more go through natural attrition and voluntary redundancies!

And for those playing at home, the policies Carson has for solving the divide are basically the traditional rightwing-nut options of removing government welfare. How that will stop mass incarceration for drug crimes is unclear. Dealing is seen as a route out of the projects in some impoverished areas.

The irrelevant Murdoch Press are still at it but this time the public are not having any of it.
Seem to me the days of thinking of a headline then building a story around it are gone.

The Sun said in a statement yesterday: “We are surprised at the comments from Survation, who undertook the polling for the Sun newspaper. The questions were discussed in full and agreed with them in advance, and the question about ‘sympathy’ was specifically written and suggested by them.

“In any event, it is not for a polling company to endorse or otherwise the editorial interpretation of a survey. The Sun published the poll's findings clearly and accurately, including the questions in full.

Also we don't have nearly so many redneck electorates in Australia. thank goodness for the red hot unpopulated centre

It seems on left wing loonies like to read right wing nut jobs.

Ever thought of not reading it?
You are one smart guy, why assume I have read it? Don't jump the gun too soon.
Was listening to BBC World News last night and they were reporting on it.

Lol. That polls reflects a similar % of earlier polls showing the level of Muslim support for terrorism as below. Its pathetic of The Guardian to attempt to discredit the poll by saying oh but those going to Iraq were all fighting for the good guys. Even worse that some people actually take the Guardian seriously.

As for the irrelevant Murdoch press which is the biggest selling paper in the UK and Australia? Yep, so much for that line.

This morning the BBC published details of a major poll of the attitudes of Britain’s Muslims.

Presented with the statement “I have some sympathy for the motives behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris”, 27 seven percent agreed with the statement

http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/society/religion/survey+government+hasnt+told+truth+about+77/545847

-According to an NOP survey, 2007:
-24 percent of British Muslims deny that the four British Muslim suicide bombers carried out the 7/7 attacks.
-24 percent of British Muslims believe the British government carried out the 7/7 attacks.

-According to Channel 4 Polls in August 2006, reported in both the Scotsman and the Financial Times:
-24 per cent agreed or tended to agree that the 7/7 bombings were justified.
-45 per cent think 9/11 was carried out by the US or Israel.

Tell that to the dog botherer who wrote his 689th item in the drunk US robber barons rag this week crapping on about the ABC. Works the other way as well.

Jerry Hall is a dog?

Don't read anything you post on Muslims. I know where you stand.

Odd way of saying your criticism of Rupert was way wide of the mark

BTW one poll was by the BBC, don't you trust them either?

As for Muslims, I stand totally against terrorism along with around 75% of Muslims in the UK.

Yep Murdoch Press biggest selling media selling to bogans, bigots, rascist and any other ist one can think of.

Do you read it? Interestingly a number of people I know have stopped reading The Sun.
They say nothing newsworthy in it, more rubbish lately and they are not political.

Rely on ABC, BBC World News on radio for news then follow up with Internet if topics is interesting.
Week-end - The Age.

Must admit though the Sun here has the best form guide if you like horse racing.

Most of my feed relates to industry specialists but it tends to be more international. BBC is also good but also international.

To make up for local the age, I will read the headlines on the Australian to know what rupert is banging on about but not the articles.

Big footy for my Port Adelaide fix.

The ABC was a favourite about 10 or 15 years ago but I feel they have lost the plot.

I think that the ABC was better before political interference, now they report like treading on egg shells.

I think that the general public are a bit over Rupert and his editorial interference, more evident in USA at the moment.

There was a day the Australian was an OK read but its so long ago I can't remember. The Advertiser and the News in SA have always been s**t.

The ABC went down not because of political interference but when the BC shifted from its charter and mandate in an effort to become more popular. It shifted from a factual report to an opinion based service. The ABC should look to its counter parts like the BBC news and keep to the facts. The BBC seems to generate entertainment via the facts and interesting insights rather than overt opinions and worse......agendas
