Who's afraid of Rupert Murdoch? The end of an era.

You keep saying that with nothing to back it up. Only one Tory has been named so far and there is no concrete evidence against him. Cyril Smith was lib dem. As for coverups Ed Miliband knew that Lord Janner had a police investigation for being a paedo and did nothing. Ditto labour council in Rotherham that knew a gang of muslims was raping hundreds of children.

As yet unproven allegations re Tories, utter certainty that the BBC knew Saville and co were molesting children. Hopeless comparison. If it happened at the Sun the usual muppets would be going berserk.
As yet unproven, just like the allegations against Saville at one stage.

Saville was common knowledge within the BBC. He was doing it on the premises. It was simply accepted given he was a huge star.

The Westminster paedo ring allegations have long been around. If you want to accuse Thatcher of covering it up the same would have to apply to Major, Blair and possibly even Cameron who only relented under pressure. Given these allegations start late 60s you would have to accuse others before her as well.

Nor should we forget the close link between some labour figures and the PIE

But Thatcher was alerted directly. As much a pedo enabler as any at the BBC

That is utter crap. The only thing she was alerted to was her private secretary and the allegations were that he was attending gay orgies not re paedos

Are you comparing gay sex parties to paedophilia?
Bullshit meds.

Truth is, she and other conservative ministers did their best to protect the fiddlers within their ranks.

Next you will try and pretend Leon Brittain wasn't alerted very explicitly, and directly tried to suppress/lose evidence

How about the allegations leveled against him

I went to a lunch of about 20 people and Brittain spoke. Oily, overpleased with himself sort. That was pre knowing of the allegations you mentioned. One of those sorts where you just know something is wrong about them but cant quite finger it. I wouldn't find it difficult to believe he was involved.

The telegraph link was re a diplomat who was a member of the PIE. See links between it and three current labour mps.

Odd how you only ever mention Tories though. I wonder why that is?

You can tell Meds cares about the kids by how often he politicises their abuse.

And now by his own standards we can say he 'happily lunched with accused peados' and did nothing to stop it. What a depressing turn to the thread.

Meanwhile in the country in which we actually vote, the PM continues to spread vigorous misinformation in a way that can only be compared to News Corp's press. Given we pay his wages, does he get the same excuse: 'he's a private citizen - he doesn't need to tell the truth'?

Making s**t up again hey Ratts? Watch out for those shadows!

I'm checking in on old mate Bolt to see if he's still given up on real political discussion (yep, he has). As part of his "News Watch" segment, he showed all the journalists that thought boat turn-backs wouldn't work*. It included The Australian's Nikki Savva.

Cue Piers Akerman saying that he would give all those journalist's papers an "F" and wouldn't buy those papers.

Bolt didn't correct him (and we know how much Bolt loves to interrupt) so I guess we assume he and Piers both think The Australian isn't worth reading.

(*of course it's worth noting that the good idea of giving boatpeople orange lifeboats happened well after the election, and pre-election we were dealing with appallingly bad ideas like the Coalition saying they'd buy boats in Indonesia to 'stop the boats'. It's also worth noting that the conflict Rudd warned would happen has happened diplomatically, even if you think Indonesia has no right to be unhappy with the turn-boats.)

How many times was the word " Luvvies " uttered ?

How many times did they smirk ?
It wasn't a smirky episode, it was a shake-your-head episode. Whenever Bolt lobbed a softball for someone to hit into Shorten's face, he would immediately start shaking his head so the producers could show the audience the correct way to react to the information.

Of course when he was asking Joel Fitzgibbon a question (don't the Bolt-ons around here claim Labor 'boycotts' the show?) old mate Andy would ask more difficult questions, like the specific dollar figure of a policy outside Fitzgibbon's remit, or when he queried how much the carbon tax would've effected global temperature "to the nearest thousandth of a degree".

Another thing I didn't realise: he isn't against boatpeople because of the moral reason or the organisational reason. He laughs at refugees being skilled, and thinks most will be on welfare for enough years so that the Shorten proposal to double our refugee intake will cost 'billions' over the forward estimates.

Belief based on reality. Old figures but doubt has changed much. Shorten doubling refugees intake (and probably far more than that given family reunion) is just about appeasing the left and importing voters at a large economic cost to Australia. Yet amazingly some will applaud this blatant gerrymandering.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...are-for-refugees/story-e6freuzr-1226050094427

MORE than 60 per cent of refugees to Australia have failed to get a job after five years, according to a damning Federal Government report into the humanitarian settlement program.

And 83 per cent of those households now rely on welfare payments for income.

The greatest unemployment rate was recorded among new arrivals from Iraq and Afghanistan, with less than one in 10 finding full-time work and 93.7 per cent of households receiving Centrelink payments.

I reckon we should have let those 8500 humanitarian entrants from Iraq die the deaths they deserved.

How do you know they are even from Iraq let alone that they are in any danger? Happy just to take their word for it?

And here was me expecting Meds might have been updating us on the victims of peadophiles that he is oh so concerned about.

Or is it only important when he can use it to criticise 20th Century BBC execs...?

Another pathetic effort. See updates on relevant thread re Brittan etc.

How about you just copy and paste from the ALP website so we don't have the read the rest of your crap, not least your illegible mumblings on economics.

Good to see you admit you were clueless re refugees and welfare costs. At least you are consistent.

No, mate, what is "pathetic" is you thinking any of what you wrote in this post is true. Or even logical if you knew you weren't being truthful. And what is depressing is how much the enthusiasm of your outrage on peadophiles matches your preferred political position. Just think about that for 5 minutes. Not 5 seconds. 5 minutes.

But if the first sentence you wrote here is true and you are committing to only writing about relevant issues in each individual thread then that will put a stop to the Meds Bingo game. Probably for the best; that joke got old a lot quicker than I expected.

Enough of Ratts inane, sycophantic cheerleading dribble.
