And why do/did they want to put a cap on the interchange rotations?

I actually like both the sub rule and the cap on rotations.
2 subs and no rotations would be better.
No difference to what happens now or even before the sub rule, they will probably lose. What if a team had three injuries?

Nah not really. They will lose by allot more.
Nah not really.
Get 3 players injured now and you will lose.if its 17 v 18 you will.
No sub
No cap
Get rid of this over regulated BS and let the boys play some good old fashioned footy
sub rule atm is meaningless
teams are subbing at the end of 3rd/early 4th (sometimes mid 4th) as a token gesture, nothing more, nothing less
it achieves nothing in the current rules climate
Token gesture? A tactical sub can change the outcome of a game.
completely agree with everything you written. Capping the interchanges and substitutions was designed to slow the pace of the game down a bit, and also to reduce the amount of beehive soccer/rolling maul play, by making players tire quicker so that they have to remain in more tradional positions, which in turn would open up the game more and make it more visually appealing.I'd rather 4 on the bench, with a cap of 20 to 25 rotations per quarter max. Get rid of the sub rule entirely, it was only brought in to limit rotations and has clearly not worked what so ever, blaming KB.
I've always hated the sub rule. Its hard for those young blokes just on the fringe to get some game time.
I mean, if your team is on the bottom of the ladder, you want to get games into the younger blokes, but giving them 15 minutes in the last quarter does nothing to be honest. I honestly enjoy watching more players get a go etc, it really test's out clubs depths and those that were overlooked as being no good, to show something.
I don't care if there's injuries and if its unfair one team is up one or two players. That's football, live with it, winning those types of games when the s**t gets tough are the ones you remember the most. Anyone here who actually plays the game on weekends themselves would know this.
