Because that would be horrific enough, but I suspect this legislation could easily be used to charge and imprison any member of this forum for disseminating information TPTB don't want getting out. That is, hello Big Brother, goodbye any pretense that we live in a liberal democracy.

Brandis needs to concentrate on stopping leaks at the source.

Agreed.

It's not a free speech issue until it gets outside the organisation. Once it's there, people reporting on it shouldn't be an issue unless there is a clear and significant potential for harm (which should lead to a delay publication until that harm can be minimised).

BTW. Harm doesn't include political embarrassment.
 
They do spend a lot of time and money trolling social media, dont think for a minute they're just mashing the keyboard and refuting those latte sipping inner city lefties and their dangerous socialistic mindset.
