With what’s going on in the NFL recently? Whoever works in PR for the NFL is going to be asking for a pay-rise.

We all know NFL players are far from rocket scientists but this is starting to become ridiculous. What happened to the days of doing cocaine and being caught in a hotel room with multiple scantily clad women? Enough of that though and onto the positives such as the 49ers losing, the Seahawks, Saints, Lions and Colts all lost as well. The Packers also came from behind to manage victory. Did I mention that the 49ers lost?

Onto Thursday night we roll where the Steelers travelled to Baltimore, this was once a great rivalry but this game just seemed stale and bland. Three atrociously soft penalties for roughing the passer and striking a defenceless receiver gets people questioning about where the league is heading. 1/5 Stars wouldn’t recommend. (6-26) Ravens

So who would’ve thought the Buffalo Bills would be 2-0 and one of the more exciting teams after 2 weeks? Well that’s exactly what has happened C.J. Spiller, a beastly defence and Sammy Watkins are breathing life back into this now $1.4 Billion dollar franchise. While the Dolphins on the other hand struggled mightily after a great 1st round win. (10-29) Bills

I’d hate to be a Lions supporter that’s all I can say. After playing magnificent football last week they turned the ball over, missed field goals and Megatron showed he is actually human in a sloppy performance that Carolina punished them for. The Panthers welcomed back QB Cam Newton by allowing him to be sacked 5 times just to make sure his ribs were ok. The Panthers have now opened up a big 2 game lead on the Saints. (7-24) Panthers

I would compare the Falcons defence to a sieve but sieves are at least useful. Even without A.J Green the Bengals had 472yds of offence. The Bengals defence pounced on an inept Matt Ryan who threw 3 INTs just to show everyone that last week’s effort wasn’t going to be the norm and he was still the same old Ryan. Just because he is a top bloke Bengals kicker Mike Nugent missed 3 field goals to try and make Ryan look better, it didn’t work. (10-24) Bengals

Seriously Cleveland why? WHY DID YOU GIVE MANZIEL A SNAP? Now ESPN will jerk themselves silly over this after all the good you have done in beating the Saints, it’s not hard to see how this is such a basket case franchise that won its first opening home game since 2004. Not even Jimmy Graham going HAM could save the Saints from another close defeat. (24-26) Browns

While Peterson was out for giving a ‘whopping’ to his son the Pats decided to hand out their own ‘whopping’ to the Vikes and it was a ‘whopping’ AD would’ve been proud of. Cassel obviously forgot he wasn’t playing for the Pats any more though as he threw 4 INTs on the day. (30-7) Patriots

The Giants are bad, like really bad. Drew Stanton starts and you lose? C’mon man. Manning and Coughlin better look for new jobs. But the Cards are finding ways to win and now lead the NFC West and are undefeated. (25-14) Cardinals

Last week I said the Titans were getting their shit together, well this week they were just shit. DeMarco Murray sick of seeing Romo throw the ball said give me the ball so you don’t turn it over as he rumbled for 167yds on the ground and a TD. (26-10) Cowboys

It wasn’t a good day for Washington fans, firstly they had to watch their team and the Jags play, secondly they had to sit through watching the Jags in those hideous excuses for uniforms and then to top it off RGIII dislocated his ankle. On the plus side they won, but nobody cares. (10-41) Redskins

It was the Chargers of old against the Seahawks with Rivers connecting with Gates for 96yds and 3 TDs that lead them to a stunning win over the Super Bowl champs of last season. The Chargers also had TOP for 42:15 compared to 17:45. Rivers also actually threw to Sherman’s side of the field to show the Packers how to actually ******* do it. (21-30) Chargers

I’m not sure which game everyone cared less about Jags @ Washington or the Rams @ Tampa, turns out it was Rams @ Tampa as the only people who know what happened were the people at the game. (19-17) Rams

The Chiefs lost arguably their 3 best players and it was too much to overcome against a Bronco team that has played it fine the past 2 weeks. The Chiefs weren’t without some luck though with a pick 6 and a strip sack both being overturned, one on review the other due to a penalty. In a showing of good faith Andy Reid decided to call some ridiculous plays on the goal-line to hand Denver the win. (17-24) Broncos

Just to make the game interesting the Packers let the Jets have an 18 point lead before they started to try. Jordy Nelson caught a career high 209yds, Mo Wilkerson looked like a tool while getting kicked out and the refs uncharacteristically made a big blunder. It was a strange day at Lambeau to say the least.(24-31) Packers

The most interesting thing to come out of the Raiders Texans match up was that J.J. Watt caught a TD pass. Seriously is there anything this man can’t do? Man crush metre has gone into overdrive. (30-14) Texans

So if I told you there was a game featuring Cutler and Kaepernick and one threw 4 TDs and the other 3 INTs and a lost fumble you’d ask how much did the 49ers win by? Well instead Kap played like crap and I rejoiced as the 49ers lost at home to a Bears team that was useless until Cutler took a big hit just before the half. (28-20) Bears

To round out the week the two most over-hyped young QBs faced off against each other in prime time. Thankfully for them Trent Richardson was playing and once again he proved how terrible he actually is and that Irsay was probably drunk when making that trade. The Eagles have gotten off to a great start while the Colts are now languishing at 0-2. (30-27) Eagles

Things to look forward to in Week 3:

  1. Denver @ Seattle
  2. Which teams will remain unbeaten? (Cards, Bills, Panthers, Bengals, Broncos, Texans, Eagles)
  3. Which teams will remain winless? (Colts, Jags, Chiefs, Saints, Giants, Raiders, Bucs)
  4. Will the arrogance of Eagles fans reach new heights?
  5. Can we go a week without a controversy?
