Davies-Uniacke Signs Seven-Year Extension with North Melbourne

North Melbourne star Luke Davies-Uniacke has pledged his long-term future to the club, signing a seven-year contract extension that will keep him in royal blue and white until at least the end of the 2032 season.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who was due to become a free agent at the end of this year, has opted to remain a Roo for the foreseeable future, providing a major boost to the club’s rebuild and culture.

Drafted with pick No.4 in the 2017 AFL Draft, Davies-Uniacke has played 112 games for North Melbourne, establishing himself as one of the competition’s most dynamic and impactful midfielders. Renowned for his strength in the contest, explosive burst, and ability to break away from traffic, he has developed into a cornerstone of the club’s future.

The 2024 season was a breakout campaign for Davies-Uniacke. He played every game for the first time in his career and was rewarded with his first Syd Barker Medal as the club’s best and fairest.

North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the long-term deal was a significant milestone for the club.

“Luke is an incredibly important and much-loved part of our playing group, so to have him commit for another seven years is fantastic news for the club and our supporters,” Rawlings said.

“His decision to stay, despite strong interest from other clubs, speaks volumes about his belief in our program and where we’re heading.”

“At just 25, Luke’s best footy is still in front of him, and we can’t wait to see him continue to grow and lead here at North Melbourne.”

Davies-Uniacke becomes the sixth key player to commit long-term to the Roos in recent seasons. He joins Jy Simpkin, Nick Larkey, Cameron Zurhaar, and Tristan Xerri — all contracted through to at least 2029 — as well as Harry Sheezel, who is signed until the end of 2030.
