The AFL has confirmed the draft order for the 2025 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, set to take place tonight, Wednesday, May 28, at 6:30pm AEST. This draft gives clubs a chance to strengthen their lists mid-season, particularly those impacted by injuries or looking to improve depth.

The draft order is based on reverse ladder positions following Round 11 and adjusted by win percentage due to varying schedules across the league. Only teams with available list spots—created through long-term injuries, retirements, or player moves to the inactive list—are eligible to participate.

West Coast Eagles hold the coveted first pick after placing Dom Sheed on the inactive list due to an ACL injury. They are expected to target a high-performing state league player to support their rebuild.

A total of 338 players have nominated for the draft, ranging from overlooked former AFL players to standout talents from state leagues and VFL competitions. Big names hoping for a return include Brandan Parfitt and Jack Bytel.

The draft will be streamed live, offering fans real-time insights into how clubs are positioning themselves for the second half of the season.
