Hawkeye, Hawkeye, Hawkeye!
Hawkeye for Prime Minister!
Wake up and smell the roses, Hawkeye is as reliable as a Leyland P76

Oh please even as a West Australian who loves bucky i thought that was just clipping leg stump. People hate Hawkeye because it proves what they can't see. That ball was shaping back.

I know it's only early days but Chris Rogers needs to learn that when you get a shocking decision like he did today, you have to linger at the crease to let everyone know you don't like the decision.
Once you have played a fair few more tests you are then entitled to make it public knowledge via the media that it was a shocker of a decision and clearly the umpire cheated.
If you progress on to be one of the greats, you are then quite within your rights to stand your ground, shake your head and then make your batting partner walk off with you in protest. (We call this "doing a Gavaskar".)
Of course once your career is over, you are then able to be openly critical of any decision you don't find to your liking and put enough pressure on to get an umpire sent home in disgrace, regardless of whether he makes a mistake or not.
Luckily for Rogers, he is making his debut against the Indians, perfect role models for him as he makes his progression.
Watch, listen and learn Chris, to the best in the business.
great post :D

Mate, if you reckon Hawkeye is anywhere near accurate, you have as much idea as my friend eddiesmith.
The LG hotspot, now there is technology that's actually worth having.
Face it, Hawkeye is $hit

Hmmm, played some nice shots today, copped a good nut and got a nick but something about him just makes me think of Wayne Phillips from Victoria. Both openers, both debut v India at the WACA, both out to good swing bowling, both have not much to show from their test debut and both just on appearance dont look like test cricketers. Hopefully Rogers stays in contention but as I think he looked a bit more assured than Jaques did.

It's more correct than crazy biased people who simply refuse to see movement. Hawkeye struggles with bounce more than movement.

Let's quit the bickering about who gets what bad decision. Yes, Tendulkar's could have been not out, but then you could say he should have been out LBW to Symonds much earlier, Dravid was given not out when he was plumb, Dhoni was hard done by, Rogers was unlucky. These types of decisions are always going to pop up when you have a mode of dismissal that is based on the umpires opinion. The will even out and for each one you claim you were hard done by, someone could bring up another where you were lucky. It is as much part of the game as fast bowling and classic catches. Let's just move on.

This is BigFooty, your commonsense comments are not wanted here

Hussey scored 1 in his first test match innings.

Jaques scored 2 in his first test match innings.

Rogers was merely continuing the pattern by doubling Jaques score. He'll finish twice the batter too!

Jaques' average is barely half of Hussey's, so Im seeing Rogers being around a quarter going by this...

dissapointing for Rogers... I'm a big fan of his and want to see him do well. but he'll get another crack in the not too distant future (possibly fourth test if Hayden's not right) and i'm sure he'll have a fair degree of success in his test career by the time it finishes.

Maybe your eyes are no good because I can see when a ball is clearly continuing down leg.
You are half right when you say Hawkeye struggles with bounce. Your comment should read, "Hawkeye struggles" and leave it at that.
You were no doubt also a fan of Cyclops at the tennis, whereas I can remember McEnroe bouncing a ball on the bloody thing to prove it was crap as well.
Hawkeye would make a good boat anchor

an 'exclusive' in the west today claims that rogers is set to walk

unfortunately they are a stingy bunch and they want you to pay for online content so i dont have a link but i can post some of the important points

-Rogers is likely to be offered the captaincy

-his disillusionment with the WACA has become well known in national cricket circles

-one senior WACA offical has told potential state openers that rogers was sure to leave WA

-the west 'understands' rogers has a tense relationship with tom moody. he believes the WACAs reluctance to pick him for ODD matches has hurt his national prospects (fair point IMO)

-WACA president graeme wood said "SA made an offical request last friday and we acknoweledged it so they can speak to him now"

Hayden will retire at the end of next summer and Rogers will replace him in the national side.

SA may benefit from his captaincy and run scoring ability for a season, but they won't see him much after that.

yeah this move makes little sense from SA point of view. having said that rogers wont play ODIs for australia so they may have him for half a season each year

Won't be able to see the ball at red Adelaide though... ;)

Don't want him to go but he's been unhappy for a few years now at the WACA. (there's was an article in the west saying he was contemplating a move to Victoria in about 2004)

Must have rocks in his head if he his thinking of comming to SA..Look at all the "TALENTED BATSMEN" they have had Cosgrove, Borgas 1&2, Plant, Ferguson, Deitz, Elliott, Flower, etc..put them in the team, then get Advertiser to bag them , keeps their price down so SACA can employ another administrator so they can put spin, if any on why they lose..

thats why there are to many mediocre players in SA.. even now they (Advertiser)are saying what a game SA are having Just missing out on first innings points ..(against the bottom team) who's kidding who?

I think it's a case of you kidding yourself. This is one of the manic posts I've read. It doesn't make any sense at all.
