the richmond crowd out cheered us by a mile
i was sitting in the carlton cheer squad and there was hundreds of richmond fans chanting
i do beleive we need chants for carlton
and if we advertise it well we could get some really good atmosphere
what does everyone else think

I saw it, I was sitting up there too, just the next bay thing over, was quite interesting, don't know how it started but it was on like donkey kong. Shitloads got evicted from that blue...Where I was sitting everyone was bagging the crap outa the guys that started it. Both Carlton and Richmond fans were bagging them. BTW, Carlton was louder at some points during the game but towards the end the tigers were up and about and there supporters were letting everyone know. Also, from me, as a personal thing, well done to those Carlton fans after the game shaking the Tigers fans hands, shows real class. Well done.

yeah it seemed like there were more carlton fans at the game


but do u think getting the "whole crowd soccer style chants" would be a good thing

it definantly creates a huge atmosphere

I was in the Richmond Cheer Squad last night and did notice that there was alot more Carlton fans compared to Richmond. but the Richmond fans in the second half of the game out classed the Carlton crowd even though there were slighly less. The Richmond Cheer Squad and Richmond Grog Squad would have been starting those chants. The Carlton Cheer Squad and Carlton fans have a long way to come before they can out do a Richmond Crowd in Loudness.
One thing we have in common is that we both hate Collingwood and Essendon.
Back to the game, I do feel for you lot though, if it had of been a Richmond loss, I would be devasted too, but at the end of the night one team had to of win and the other lose, it could have gone either way. Good Luck to you guys next week against the Saints though.

I too noticed the lack of atmosphere that most 70,000 plus crowds usually generate, and it was missing for a large part of the match. The Richmond fans made a bit more noise in the 4th quarter, but there was an eerie lack of tension in the crowd.

I put it down to the fact that last year a lot of Carlton fans were barracking for the opposition, and this has caused confusion. I went along with a few carlton supporters and tried to get them to sing along to the theme song at the end...but they wouldn't have a bar of it.

Maybe later in the season.

I didn't watch, I was too busy watching the game hoping we'd pick our game up and win... not to be... my wife said it was a bunch of teenagers that got into a fight... kids

Where I always am, the 50 line on the opposite side to the television cameras on the Punt Road end, they were everywhere. I have never heard a louder roar for winning a coin toss in my life, not to mention the first goal to Murph!

I heard that chant from L3 on the wing in the Olympic stand. It was loud . There seemed to be about 20-30 cops there too . Couldn't see from where i was but how many got ejected for that incident or the whole night?


You guys well and truly outnumbered us from L3 on the Olympic stand and it sounded fairly silent when we kicked a goal . If it wasn't for a few Tigers mates with me i wouldn't have been able to stand it.
