Even you have a rudimentary learning capability. Well done :thumbsu:.
Well i'd like to think i pick up on things, especially the blatantly obvious, fairly quickly. Must admit you didn't make it very hard, your posts speak for themselves really. Continue on with your ever increasing positive attitude toward all:thumbsu:
On topic walks will deliver in spades when the shoulder is right to go, just hope he has the proper surgery and gets it right this time:)

And no, I'm not covering myself just in case JK comes good, I said numerous times that our staff hampers the development of players, look at Collingwood, players like Rusling, Pendlebury, Goldsack, O'Brien, Reid & MARTY CLARKE (who had been playing 'Aussie Rules' for about a year) come into their side and make an immediate impact, why is that? Why cant our players do that?... Because they have better development (?) staff than we do, whether or not West Coast have that level of development (?) staff remains to be seen.

Collingwood definitely has been a league leader in terms of player development in recent times, on the back of their Development Academy run by Alan Richardson and Brad Scott.

The good news for Carlton is that this Development Academy was established by none other than Greg Swann who is now doing the same thing at Carlton with Lappin and Teague. Also, this being Swanny's second time, no doubt it will be new and improved :) (eg. having Lappin and Teague actualy play games in the Bullants alongside the players they work so closely with in developing could prove to be a masterstroke).

But come on Walker is easily in our best 10 players. He was compiling some pretty decent games last season until he got injured, and then came back before he perhaps should have.

Walker is easily in our best 5 athletes which gives him the potential to be in our best 5-10 players, but IMO he is not there yet.

Players I rate better than Walker to date:

Judd
Murphy
Stevens
Fev
Carrazzo
Scotland
Waite

You could also imo, place people like:

Houlihan
Thornton
Fisher
Simpson

In the same company as him. That's just my opinion though.

Whatever.

Who have these players played on and beaten ? NOt one of them has lined up week in week out on the type of player Walker has - not one of them has been consistently asked to run with some of the leagues best - none. Waite has occasionaly done a decent job on Reiwoltds - thornton has occasionaly been asked to take on a decent player (although gets beaten). The rest of them are totally unnacountable INCLUDING Judd and Stevens.

You are a true dickweed.....If you feel like a e-penis fight go and argue with the countless people that genuinely knocked him in this thread without any argument.

IMO all the players I named have thus far in their career done more than Walker has in his. End of story

I was actually sticking up for him against the people that are just stirring shit...

To respond to the bolded section: Are you saying that unaccountable players are not important to a side? If so you have no idea of modern football

Yes let's turn Judd into a tagger.

And Thornton never plays on any good forwards?

And why does Fisher- a forward have to be accountable? Does Fev have to be accountable or is it up to the opposition to be accountable to them?

i am also an old echuca guy and i know andrew as i played alot of school boy footy with him and he always managed to pull thru the most unbelievable situations, yeah fair enuf he may be chokin atm at this level but who woodnt be? hes a great young kid with a Sh!tload of talent. give him a fair go boys!

While people are talking about accountability, what are their thoughts on Craig Bradley?

Not sure Braddles EVER accounted for a man. Backed himself (and the coach did too) to be more damaging than his opposite number.

Not all players need to be "accountable" to a direct opponent, otherwise you end up looking like a Sydney Swans match. Lots of tackles and stoppages, little free play and a quarter time score as the final score.

That's accountable contested footy. Everyone who bitches and moans about how Stevens and Judd etc never man up.........IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?

I think Tex's problem is he is a very nervous guy, I was at a practice match a couple of years ago and heard someone say he threw up before every match, not sure how true it was. However if u look at the way he plays he sometimes get himself into a mess. I think if he was more confident he would be a gun as he has all the attributes, hence it is another reason for getting someone like Judd in the team as it will be good for him as he will 'grow a leg' (is that the saying, lol) so to speak with him around.

I also believe we should try him at Centre Half Back as he has now filled out and definitely has the athleticism and jump to spoil most CHF's (I wouldn't play him on Brown or any Gorrila types). He did a great job on Croad once before dont see why we dont try it again. He could be a Mark Harvey, Campbell Brown type, in doing that he could also expose the CHF as well by running off them. If successful you could play Waite in the forward line. Also by doing this you give him a task which imo is when he exels and plays his best footy.

Thing about throwing up is not true at all...

He will come good don't worry about that. He's not as far off having a breakout season as most think....

He's a ready made player now, he's done the hard yards in many positions (imo he needs to really try and nail 1 position) and if he can come back from injury without those errors we all know about, he will do well.

The new game plan if executed well will suit Walker more than anybody in our team, it gives him opportunity to play his natural running game.

Strange..why would a Geelong supporting newbie dredge up this thread for their first post, even if they played football with them years ago?

chokin at this level as well...:D

I really don't get all the fuss over Walks. He has one main problem, and he has had this since he was drafted.

He makes bad decisions when he is under pressure. Can this be worked on, and coached out of him? Perhaps. Or, we find a solution. How about playing him on a wing, or a HBF, and just let him be the quarterback down there. Has the speed, and the athletisism to go with most of his would be opponents, and with that speed, hopefully the pressure on him won't be as bad if he is flying out of the backline.

Don't get too carried away here mate. The draft before Thomas and Pendlebury was Chris Egan and Adam Iacobucci.

It was tongue-in-cheek implying he was a Pies supporter, nothing serious.

Although that said, they have picked up some pretty good kids apart from Thomas and Pendlebury (Clarke, Goldsack, O'Brien come to mind).
