Would expect a Sydney supporter to say that. What Hall did was a disgrace and being let off by the AFL for political purposes just stunk to high heaven. Ditto, albeit to a lesser extent, the Goodes cowardly elbow (stunk to a lower level of heaven, perhaps).
Even the majority of Hawks supporters posting here agree that Lewis deserved the week he got (you will notice what riles them most was Pratt's reaction/role).
You could have picked better examples to make your point, which is no doubt a popular one. I loved the SA showdown game, and they (AFL) definitely did get it right there. Brogan (twice), Thomas and Motlop were each involved in hard incidents, but rightly were not charged as they were in the play and within the rules.
That sort of play is great and God forbid they ever legislate it out of the game. But throwing a punch is no longer acceptable and I think that is absolutely right. You're not a hard man if you think footy needs this stuff because "it's a man's game". It is a man's game without it.
So, the AFL's stance on striking is a good one, it's just a pity it wasn't applied to the Sydney untouchables. (Although, on the upside, WC certainly didn't deserve 2 flags whilst on the juice these past few years, especially given their first two were also juice-enhanced).

Righto, I've just watched the entire first quarter.
Lewis was running towards the wing with Pratt hard on his hammer and Lewis ran underneath the ball, then feebly attempted to mark it with his left hand after the ball had just passed his head.
HE SQUIBBED IT!
Pratt said something, Lewis had his brainfart then:
Stephen Quartermain: "OOOHH! THAT'S STUUUUUPID, that's just sheer stupidity!"
Michael Christian: "I reckon Pratt just worried him out of that mark."
Strange how all these blow by blow reports from Hawthorn supporters managed to miss that.
Other observations:
Xavier Ellis is another one that belongs in a dress. Dead. Set. Girl.
If we had kicked straight in the first quarter, the umpires would never have effected the result. We should have been at least seven goals up at quarter time.

Hadn't seen that footage again since the game. Gee, Prat covered himself in glory on the wk'nd. Lots of pot, kettle black in this thread I didn't see till now.
Best thing is though, look at the attitude of both teams after that incident. One team powered home, the others went into their shell.
Sad to say, but I think that's a great metaphor for where both teams are at.

Ha, ha - it's a highlight reel from the game - wouldn't be a highlight reel wihout the melee you doofus.
But yes, we do care about the implications of his actions. And not specifically in respect to Lewis' suspension either.
