This man speaks the truth.

I've used four already to fix up a couple of problems and to get the right rookies in. As a result my team looks far better than it did two weeks ago.

There's no point whinging about having a liability in your team when you still have 20 trades left.

It's a bit like picking obscure players. There's no point if they're not going to be averaging as much as the more popular players around them.

i totally agree, i used 3 in the first two weeks to fix some areas which didnt go to plan and to pick up cash cows (hill, getting cox in) but wont use any this week

i think people have got a bit carried away with the notion that trades shouldnt be used unless absolutely necessary

The way Richmond have been playing this year it doesn't look like he's going to get too many cheap possesions. I may be completely wrong, but going on instinct has worked for me so far so I'll stick with it. If everything went as planned we'd all be tied up in the top 100 each week given the amount of sure things that get bandied around here.

Let's just see where we're all sitting mid season hey :thumbsu:

So this is your team:

You would have had Pfeiffer come in if Bowden does miss, great team and good luck but that was a massive waste of a trade.

Yes, you shouldnt trade unless its absolutely necessary or you are drastically improving your team. Some trades may be forced by injuries, but all others must strictly be to improve you team - for the long run.

Have got 1 more trade this week so need your opinion -

1 - Trade Deluca to Kreuzer so I have cover on my bench just in case Cox doesn't play plus will be handy down the track.

or

2 - Trade Geary/Houli to Palmer. (would be starting on the ground)

i have a problem
i have gram at the moment and he is letting me down. He probably isn't going to be a keeper this year so at some stage im going to have to upgrade him. i was thinking this week:
Gram - > goddard
does this seem like a waste

You're coming top 10 and you just burned a trade. Trading out Bowden is a terrible mistake.

Enjoy the 2nd half of the year while sitting out side the top 500 and not having Bowden who'll be averaging 100 by then

It's so funny like a million people just ask question after question and no questions ever get answered hahaha. It's like an internet version of "snobbing".

Like I mentioned before, if everything went to plan we'd all be sitting in the top 100, time will tell on that trade, if he comes out and avergaes 100 for the rest of the year, then I'll have wasted a trade, if not then I made the right decision, but there are no guarentee's either way.

Let's see what happens:D

I don't think anyone is to precious with their trades.

So you honestly think people getting two zero's just because that want to save their trades is worth it?

Why not admit you made a mistake having Hansen, Thompson, Edwards.... in your backline and trade for a rookie cash cow now?

Two benefits, you will stop yourself gaining a 0 and potentially get a cash cow that will do their job. This is compared to players which potentially will not get a game all year and sit on your bench.

Here is an example, I had Lucas and Armitage in my original team. Lucas was injured and Armitage was knocked out in the reserves week 1. Both players would not get a game for a long time.

Heaps of people said save your trades, they're gold..... I said no, I am not going to sit there taking their non scoring.
Traded Lucas -> Hill
Armitage -> Hodge (Just for a different gun in my eyes).

Still to this moment I'm very happy with that trades I made after week 1. OMG two trades in the first week.

I did not trade week 2
Week 3 I decided to Trade Hansen out for Gamble.

Now I have used 3 trades, many people would go OMG you have used 3 trades already. Personally I think they're worth it, my team is not getting hit with 0's and cash cows are all starting to produce their goods.

:thumbsu: Good post, agreed.

I've got Myers and Hansen sitting on my bench in the backlines. About to trade out Myers for Pfeiffer, and if Hansen isn't named next week I'll dump him for Wonaemirri.

Using two trades, both cash cows only, but they're worth it IMO.

Drummond sucks

So ive been doing some research over on the Geelong board, and two things are pretty apparent. They think Gamble will hold his spot for the majority of the season and that Taylor will make way for Mackie when fit (possibly next week).

This screws me up. Was going to trade Hansen for Taylor, but in light of the info ill prob have to go with Pfeiffer instead. When does the final 22 get released for Carlton? Need to make sure he's in the team first...

Secondly, in regards to Gamble - is it worth picking him up? He looks like being a great cash cow, but the only one who I would consider trading for him would be Tippett. Tippett looks like being a servicable bench player, but not a great CC. Worth trading for him?

Same here, waiting for the Blues team. Pfeiffer better be named.

Tippett is quality and his average will rise a lot if the Crows bring in Maric to be the backup ruckman. I can't for the life of me figure out why Maric isn't in the team, and it's really effecting Tippett's scoring. He could average 60 as a full time forward IMO.
