I left with about 2 mins to go
Heard the siren and then heard cheers and jeers of something that sounded like a punch on?
did anything happen?

Left at the same time. Wouldn't surprise me if there was though.

Hickmont's third quarter team talk was hilarious-ly bad.

Even Knights was having a joke about it with Calthorpe (?).

Since you quoted my post i assume you are asking me about Bellchambers.

I can't really add much as i didn't see him play juniors and today was the first i have seen of him.

Looks to have good tapwork and takes an excellent mark.

His disposal seems quite good, considering he is a ruckman but is quite slow and no real value around the ground.

Hislop is so over rated on this forum it is amazing.

I think it's because he is the type of player we need that everyone is just hoping but he has a very long way to go to become an AFL midfielder.
Not saying he's no good, as i haven't seen enough of him but he is nowhere near the wraps that are put on him yet.

It is such a shame to see JJ running around like he is as he is virtually useless these days and more of a liability which is beneath him imo and i think he should pull the plug now.....Very sad.
Of course that's it. I don't think he's overated, it's just people are hoping he'll come in the side and fill the void of that inside midfielder we've been missing.

He doesn't deserve selection after todays perfromance that's for sure, but because of our lack of options in this department he'll surely get a run very very soon as it would be pointless playing JJ or Peverill as they turn it over too much, and won't be in our next premiership side when we challenge anyways.

You mean someone the same age as Bellchambers?

Does Laycock make an impact? I say try him in the seniors! :thumbsu:

... some rise to the occassion!!! ;)

Yes I mean the same age but how many 18yo ruckman are playing in the AFL apart from Kruezer. I dunno if the opposition kid is on Melbourne's list but if he is he was rucking against Melbournes 4th and 5th best rucks today. Im all for Laycock to be dropped but Bellchambers aint gonna do anything in the seniors playing like that.

Yes he is on Melbournes list. Pretty big wraps on him.

Bendigo has the same problems the 1s had. This run and carry game style aint working. All the opposition is doing is creating a semi circle around the player with the ball, and playing tight on any man within 5 metres.

How often did we only have 3 people around the ball, and they had abotu 7. Then when the turn over occured, the was 1-1, or free men in their F50 because half the team has run forward.

It's like they have been told when you see the ball in a team mates hand, just run forward.. they don't protect the man, they don't call to each other another, and they seem to have no awareness.

JJ is a victim of a gamestyle that doesn't suit playing with players who don't support each other. Did bendigo (or the dons too) even put on 1 shepard the whole game(s)

Neagle had a crap game, but at least he was tackling hard when the ball was in the forward line..

As much as i hate to say it, the only one who deserves to be in the side is Danniher. JJ will probaly have to come in, and monfries, will have to come out with fletch already out. I hate seeing the same midfield each week get pantsed, but who else have earnt a game?

Dempsey has to come through bendigo, we can't afford to put him strait in the seniors and only play he for 50 mins, if we play him any longer he will just go twang. Same applies to jetta.

Hislop will come in soon, but not this week. Clearly not match fit.

Sorry for the stupidly long post.. just a bit peeved with the bomber boys this week, and the coaching staff.

That would mean that we have free players to kick to

Thats the problem, they don't kick to free players, they hand ball to someone who is under pressure before he even gets the ball. Or so a short kick into the corridor, also to someone under pressure.

You really gotta feel sorry for JJ. He tried his hard out today, but just really struggled. I hope he can get some sort of form and get a go in the senior side. I guess the only good side for him is that he's still getting plenty of the ball.

Watched only the second half...was half a sleep as well. (From watching IPL overnight :D). So from what I thought I saw...

Daniher looked good with 4 goals, though only saw him take one mark for the game. (And it was a replay from a first half goal). I know he is really good over head, he can take very good contested mark. But his goals are coming from open play. That's probably be my only small concern, coming in to the team as a 3rd tall. (Most likely to do with the delivery). Looks good below the knee though. Should have been played this week, instead of CJ.

Thought Myers had a shocker. (This is a touchy subject on bf for me). I've been wanting him to be named for the seniors, on the hype. Purely if I had to comment on this game. Only saw him touch the ball twice. One quick handpass and the other a 70m kick which floated out of bounds. I thought he looked clueless. Made a terrible blue, trying to punch the ball away with nobody near him, missed the ball completely, which almost cost Bendigo a goal. Sandy VFL listed players were running rings around him. So from this week's game don't think he can get a game for the seniors. Also I can't see him as an inside midfielder like lot of people are claiming he is. Probably a back flanker or an outside midfielder/wing.

Skipworth looked good. Is he the former Adelaide player? How old is he? Looks like a good inside midfielder. Tackles hard. Any chance of him getting picked up?

Hislop's aggression and tackling was good to see. I love to watch players like that. Even if they don't touch the ball plenty of times, they create a momentum and make the ball go in our direction. I think that's what we are lacking currently. Probably need to touch the footy a bit more to earn a call up. He fumbled a couple of times when he should have done better. But won't complain if he gets a game this week.

Neagle dissapointed me very much. Got some big expectations on him. Only sighted him in the last 5 minutes. I think he took a mark, Cramped up and put in a tackle. That's all I saw him do.

Williams did a couple of nice things late in the game. One great mark and kicked a goal from it, and another great goal off one step from outside 50. The wind took it home. Looks a likely type. Needs more time to develope.

Atkinson, looked really fit and fast. Got a solid body. Takes on players. Not scared to back him self. Really needs to work on his skills, particulary his kicking. I think he can be our answer to the small defender we are looking for. Will fit Knighter's game plan.

Bellchambers is certainly not ready. His is a monster, so he can win a few hitouts. But lacks the skills do anything else around the ground, right at moment.

Gee you're being harsh on Myers - maybe you should've seen him for the last two weeks where he was in the best ;) but yes played a poor game by his standards. He spent way too much time at half-back

Neagle is still not fit enough and conditions today didn't help fowards at all - especially our crappy delivery into the F50, which is why Daniher's game was so good, kicked 4 from extremely limited opportunities - would've had 5 if the free kick wasn't reversed.

Yesterday's game was a poor indication of what our draftees are capable of.

Yep played for Adelaide, hes 25 so it would be a tough call if hes given another shot but if he doesnt have any injury concerns this year Im all for it. At least he's not gonna be another Cole/Zantuck, takes his footy pretty seriously.

Yeah! you are probably right...not trying to slam him. Just thought he had a shocker. He wasn't reading the play that well, so didn't look like getting the ball.

You know I was excited to hear he was in the best in the previous games. Then I looked at the game this week and the comments in here about Myers...it was all about how great the 70m kick was. :D So I am not sure about his previous games now.

Also thanks for that lemon chicken...25 is a bit old. But having said that, we don't have many in that age bracket.

Could have 6-7 years of AFL still at that age. What is his story anyway? I did not see much of how he played in Adelaide. Was he any good?

Obviously not;):p

Well, no, not obvious. Was he always injured? Were there too many similar players on the list? Could be more reasons than just being shit house. I'd like a serious answer on this. Could he be the sort that could relish a second chance? Or would it just be a waste of a spot. 25 is not old.

Bullshit. You have an absolute hardon for Palmer and nothing at Myers will ever do will be enough for you.
Why dont you admit it. You are not giving Myers any time at all to develop. Everyone knew that Palmer was pretty much ready to go while Myers would take a while to develop. Yet here it is just after round six and you have already been bitching about it for 4 weeks. Seriously talk about being a member of the premature generation

I know, I was taking the piss. It's been that sort of a weekend.
I wouldn't say no.

I think a serious knee injury halted his development.
