Then he should be delisted at season's end because he is definitely not worth much as anything other than a KP player. If he isn't up to scratch there, there is no way he will make it as part of the medium/small defenders group.

I don't agree, he is good on the deck and uses the ball better than a lot of other players in our team.

I reckon we would be a better side by putting Thompson back and releasing Pratt in to the midfield. Unfortunately, that is probably a bit too left field and attacking for our coach.

We seem to just play dumb footy against the Crows, maybe thats the game plan but in the end the players r the ones executing things and there were so many little silly things tonight that when u play a team as clinical as the Crows u will pay. In the end a 33 point loss is ok and an improvement on last yrs losses where we would have been beaten heavily. We must win next week though.

Pratt is too slow and doesn't have the traffic know how to be anywhere as effective as he is in defence.

As for Thompson, unless he can man up on midfield types of players consistently, he shouldn't be considered for a HB role.

In: Smith (please be ready), Gibson, Sinclair, Urquhart

Out: Brown, Watt, Power, Thompson.

Yeah hopefully Gibbo and Smith return and also Sinclair. Thompson is likely to be dropped with 2 others. Would leave Josh Smith in but he may go as too Brown .

Actually - if ready, McMahon is a much better option in the forward line than Josh Smith.

Oh good grief I had forgotten all about McMahon you are completely right.

Far out, I forgot about McMahon as well. I'd have him as an IN for Josh Smith.

Yeah but considering it all i think Josh was ok . We showed only real flow in part of the 1st and the last when it was over and he looked ok. Leave him in i say. But McMahon is another option no doubt

I thought Josh was far from terrible - and let's face it, we had plenty of varieties of terrible out there this evening. But McMahon would be a compelling in. Would it be complete heresy to wonder if Thomas could do with a spell in the 2s?

Probably.

Yeah it would be.

Not an easy night for a small forward in a forwardline full of 10-15 Crows players, but to add to that, he ran up around the midfield and actually gave a bit.

I bet Mr KL agrees with me on that.

But FWIW, I'm on the BF DROP POWER bandwagon, he was worse than crap mainly because he kept insisting on getting the ball - at least Sansbury didn't touch the thing. Power just kept turning it over. And Scott Thompson should give way to Gibson, he's not done yet.

So I think that's Jesse Smith and Gibbo back, now if only I could find room for Sinclair. Oh hang on Browny. We lose: size. We gain: a guy who actually knows how to use the ball.

(yes, I know I usually defend him, which should give an indication of how cross I am . . .)

.....One of us, one of us, one of us.....

I know this might sound bizarre but in some weird way we have matured somewhat maybe, and i say maybe to the last yr or 2 as we fought the game out. It wasnt our night we struggled for 2 whole quarters yet escaped with only a bit over 5 goal loss. I know the Crows kicked very poorly but that maybe is some positive. I would leave Thomas in as he has that bit of spark but these types often are better when the midfield r on and r pressuring forward and back and getting the ball in fast and accurately.
The best thing we live to fight another day but if we want to become a top side like the 90s we need to really improve our skill level big time .

I'd ask him but he has just opened another bottle of red and is muttering angrily on the couch as we speak.

But FWIW, I was at 'heresy' even before I finished typing the sentence.

But Watt :)He was ok for Watty wasnt our worse. Our skills imo let us down and i say that referring to the whole group. We still rely too much on our older guys i think blokes like Jones, Harris , Big Drew, Wells, Hale although playing much more consistant footy need to give a bit more in these games where things dont seem to go right.

Try the following:

Watt
Hale
Pratt
Harris
Power
Jones
S Thompson

The above have been crap. At least Wells has got the ball but pretty hard to do anything when others are as impotent as 100 yo's cok.

Are you OK? Seriously.....Just think before posting.

Pratt has been our best defender this year & you could argue he has been the best for us in the past couple of years.

Out: Weights sessions
In: Ball work

After watching tonights game i think we are lacking in skills & Strength.

We also have Hansen who i beleive will be very good but time will tell so they say.

I spoke to one if the coaches today and Hanson has "shown signs in the last two weeks" Reading between the lines they have not been happy with him as yet.

Thompson was very very poor tonight. They tried to hide him everywhere in the 3rd qtr when he should have been on the bench. 5 goals came directly from his man. Sinclair or Gibbo should be in for him.

Thomas got some junk kicks hanging out on the wing by himself but was useless in the forward line. His kicking still sucks but he did take an overhead mark without dropping his head. Maybe he is on the way up but I doubt it very much.

Flash has to spend more time up the field as this is when he is at his best.

Thommo is slow and unfit. If Eddie hadn't broken his leg I would drop him. I'd like to see him start on the bench and play Josh Smith at FF. The guy is a decent unit and has lost 11kg this pre-season. The reason he was overlooked in the draft was because he was too fat but he's done the work!! Thommo is not the future (nor the present) so lets see what the kid has.

We will beat WCE even if we have no changes.

We should. The Eagles have been a rabble this year.

But the thing that worries me is that Laidley will look through the Eagles side, see that there's about 15 Premiership players in the team, and think that we'd better use a defensive game plan so we can keep the game tight and hope to pinch a win.

See, it's hard because last week Sansbury was stand out awful, but today it's oh so hard to single anyone out as being more crap than any of the rest of them.
