Yeh, definitely.
Like Q Lynch, he benefits (Or in Lynch's case benefited) from playing in an exceptional team.
He'd struggle to kick goals in an average or worse team.
How many? I lost track after the first 6.

Where is the poll option of no? You give no-one else i chance to say that he isnt over-rated. Not saying that i dont think that he is over-rated but still.
^yeah we got humiliated in the final
and mooney played shit
scored what 4 or 5 goals after being delivered the ball by your gun midfield about 268 times? wakelin did very well given the situation
and tredrea is underrated if anything... the way BF views him, they'd consider a snail a better footballer than him... most hated footballer in the comp
He isn't over-rated and I am embarrassed that a Carlton fan has started this thread considering he would be very handy at CHF for us. Mooney is a very good player and adds the grunt needed up forward. I haven't even heard Mooney be over-rated by anyone through the media or on BF.
D Wakelin as a defender was 10x the forward C Mooney is, or ever will be.

Our reasoning that he IS overrated is this:
-his team make him look better than he is
-he was given an AA spot - even though there were much better forwards
-he was given a H.o.F spot - even though there were much better forwards
There's our reasoning. So why do you think he isn't overrated? Let me ask you; would you rather Mooney (AA) or another forward who didn't make AA like Buddy Franklin?
I'm ashamed that YOU'RE a blues supporter; which is the only thing stopping me from ripping into you properly.
Juddernaut08, It would appear the creation of this thread on your part, and subsequent ranting, portrays you as the more disgraceful Blues' supporter.
Franklin and Lucas probably did deserve an AA instead of Mooney, though that doesn't mean he is necessarily overated. He kicked and created a lot of goals last year. Don't let his less glamorous form of the first 7 rounds this year fool you into any misperceptions. He aint no Franklin, but he is still a very good footballer.
lol. who the ____ are you?! i didn't ask your opinion; so mind your own business.

Another prescriber to this largely flawed philosophy...
Generally speaking, a team is great due to the sum of its parts. There is obviously the distinction between a star team and a team of stars, but what you are saying nonetheless is that Geelong would be no worse off without Mooney, because he is only a good footballer thanks to everyone else.
Sure the ball was coming his way frequently last year, but he still had to mark it and kick it through the big ones.
Why single out Mooney?. The whole Geelong team have been hyped up by the adoring media, and their supporters as 100% 2008 flag certainties. But I'm not so sure. 2007 was without question the poorest quality top-8 we've seen this decade, which meant the Cats weaknesses (e.g. lack of quality KP forwards) never got tested. The Geelong 2007 team, was a 3rd-finish quality side in season 2006. Mooney does his job well, and works within his limitations. Hawkins is meant to be the big hope, but question marks are being raised about his poor mobility, weight issues, and suitability for the modern game.![]()
