Well well well, Mr Houston has done it again. I would have thought a bloke that is used to counting so much money would know if he had 18 or 19 players on the field ! I wonder how many times they have had an extra player on the field when they have come from behind to win eg mordialloc and Chelsea Heights.

Who cares if its happened before, What were the scores when the count happened.

Who cares? you are a bit of a noodle mate, i'm sure everyone else who abides by the rules and does the right thing cares especially if they have lost a game to these guys coz they had extra people on the ground. could'nt have happened to a more deserving team.:D:D

I say who cares because if you want someone to blame look no further than mordi and chelsea heights to blow leads like that is a disgrace and if you still think they had an extra man than its the captains fault for not asking for a count, but like i said who cares!

This isnt the first time for houston. His first game as coach with the Parkmore Pirates V Sandown Cobras, there was also a head count. That time he got away with it.

our game plan has been blown right open we will no longer be able to push the 19th man forward. st.pauls weren't smart enough to cotton on in the granny though.;)

Absolute disgrace by St. Kilda City!

I pose two questions though:

1. I noticed their whole score was wiped and this happened with 9 minutes to go in the final quarter - I thought it was only the scores for that quarter that were usually whipped, but I may be totally wrong.

2. Will further investigation be taken by the league?

How could that happen. There are only 3 on the bench. Surely you would notice if there was one short and even if it happened by accident you would get them off before the umpire had time for a head count. Even more ridiculous given the state of the game.

Surely it was an accident. I know a few times this year we have freaked out on the bench when we have had only 3 players (allowed 4) on the bench after the quarter has started, then to only realise someone has visited the change rooms with out notifying anyone.

Rumor has it the whole incident is being reviewed but he league, stay tuned for a final decision!!!

I have had it happen once (not at Moorabbin) at the start of a quarter when a player was not listening to the side when it was read out. The runner was sent out straight away and the player got off as quick as he could. My point is that for Clayton to notice, then make sure that it is the case and then call for a count; that would have taken an extended amount off time. Im sure it was an accident, especially since they were nearly 100 up, but I find it hard to understand how it can happen. Will be interesting to see what happens from the investigation.

I was shattered as a Mordi fan to hear that Clayton had won the game after St Kilda were caught with an extra man on the field, especially after our narrow loss as it takes us 2 games and % from 4th.

But as for an investigation - the rule clearly states that if a team is found with extra player/s on the field, the score for the entire game is reset to zero. What possible grounds do St Kilda have for an appeal?
It would be great for Mordi's finals chances if the result is reversed but I can't see how the league could justify that decision..

would of been a mistake for sure and i doubt they had an extra man for the entire day i'm sure the players still feel like they won the game and i would doubt the other mob would have been singing the club song afterwards

it seems a massive penalty for a silly mistake maybe this rule should be revised through every league

At least the umpires on the weekend can count and know the rules. The same thing happened last year between Chelt and St Pauls. I am sure most people know the story but for the uninformed it went something like this.....

Sziller was sent off late in the third term with a yellow card but was replaced. St Pauls thus had 18 on the ground when the should have only had 17. Chelt called a count but the umpire (who shall remain nameless, and is no longer with the SFL) either couldnt count, didnt know the rules or overruled the rule book and decided to send M.Shalders off for calling a frivolous count, leaving Chelt with only 17 players on the park against St Pauls 18.
St Pauls went on to win by a goal and it effectively cost Chelt the double chance.
The league gave Chelt the opportunity to appeal the result but in the spirit if the game they decided let things be although they had been on the wrong end of the stick.

So there is history of an appeal but under the circumstances I'm finding it hard to figure out what grounds StKC would have. I suppose this is one occasion where the power of the almighty dollar cant get you out of the shit!

happened in the finals div 3 about 4 years ago as well

my beloved black rock had an extra man on the pitch in an eliminaiton final, head count was called, black rock were forced to play 1 short for 15 minutes but no scores were wiped....the opposing team appealed during the week that scores sholud have been wiped but good ol sfl did nohting about it

we didnt go on to win the flag, so perhaps karma plyaed some part:D

I think you will find st pauls won by 2 goals and then beat city in last game of year so there was no way known it cost chelt the double chance.

hey spiros, aka Mark Tasiyan, you are the biggest tool going around, you are as weak on this forum as you are on the field, a soft prrik who hides behind everyone else. I'll have any amount of money you like that St Pauls will thrash you blokes in the finals.
I can't believe you blokes actually dont think you were cheating, and that is from the same bloke who plays in your team that told me who you were, and also thinks you are weak as pi$$.
