The number 1 pick is far from settled IMO, i think there a few players that would still count themselves in contention.

Sidebottom - How much difference does one game make?

Sidebottom was generally regarded as probably being available at the Pies pick (11).

After today, could he go as high as top 3 or 4?

There's a few make the draft picks.

WC Port Dons Blues very important to shaping the draft.

I think some people are going overboard with the Top 3 suggestions, although i'd be happy if we had pick 3 and took him.

With the exception of Ziebell (injured), none of the others played (concencus top 10). How would they have gone today in a good team that was up and about?

I'm not sugesting Steele was front running at all but it wasn't the nationals, he wasn't on the BEST and no-one alse had a chance to up their stock.

He's an absolute freak though, both sides of the body, in and under with flair too.

He played so much better than he did at the carnival and he wasn't bad there.

What a draft it's shaping out to be.
 
When watching the 18's I thought this kid was the only midfielder who challenged Rich as best midfielder and was the only player that genuinely excited me, to see him do this but was the icing on the cake his decision making is top notch and he executes his kicks so well doesnt always go for the spearing pass that he can pull off reguarly but also knows when to give it some air as well, to quote the BIG MAN - IM EXCITED.

You are acting like an idiot mate a guy who was not even in most peoples top 10 has put in one of the best performances ever in the TAC and he has done it in the grandfinal and you are straight away going to put him down and say that others are better to make you feel good about your own club open your other eye the guy is playing in the best competition that he is able to and he has had 32-35 possesions kicked 10 goals set up about 4 and had around 15 inside 50's. I dont think you will ever find a better game than that statistically in any competition let alone the best underage competition in the nation.
 
Flukey performance, the kid is a hack. Played the best game of his career already, it's all down hill from here.

After Thomas' TAC finals performance- agruably saw him get picked 2nd- there's no limit on where Steele could go.
The Top 8 looks very, very strong- and you could almost raffle picks from there. Shame of course- that the Roos have pick 9.

Why the hell would General being critical of Steele have anything to do with Carlton? :rolleyes: He hasn't been drafted yet, and could easily be picked up by Carlton at pick 6 so I fail to see how anything General said is biased by who he supports in any kind of way. Maybe he just doesn't base his opinions of a player solely on one game did you ever think of that? :rolleyes:
