Customer Complaint

I was doing odd jobs around the store, and wasn't meant to be selling anything. That was my coworkers job for that morning. I was gluing stuff together, hammering in nails, cleaning etc. and a woman came up to me, asking if i could "quickly" sell her something because all the retail people were with customers and she was "in a rush". I said i shouldn't, but i would just the one time.

After i sell it to her, she says "thanks for that". I walk off and continue gluing shit to the walls around the store, and then my supervisor comes up to me. "That lady just complained quite loudly as you had chewing gum in your mouth while you sold her that product". I laughed loudly, and the woman turned back towards me as she was leaving, obviously not happy with me.

I wasn't chewing it, i put it to the side of my mouth. I couldn't just spit it out in front of her! I'm amazed she had the balls to complain when i was doing her a favour that i really shouldn't have.

I wouldn't piss on that bitch if she was on fire.

Now that I'm out of retail I'll never go back.
I had one woman one day ask for my help, which was fine, but I had 4 unlocked iMacs going out to the showroom when she asked me. I turned to a co-worker and asked if he could look after her, she walks out of the store. 5 minutes later I get called out the back.
The f***wit manger (read a post of mine earlier in this thread) said that I've had a complaint, I refused to serve a woman and she thinks its because she wasn't "young and cute" in her words, but "old and ugly".
She then goes on to say that I tried to handball her off to someone else.
When I told her that I was doing the job that she asked me to do in the first place, put out the new the 4 new iMacs that were all unlocked and I thought that she'll be a little p!ssed off if I left them and they were stolen just to see if some woman wanted to know how to fix her bloody ipod.
I then asked if she could write this chat down and file it away.
a few months later she asked me to put out the new Macbook Pro, same sort of thing happened so to make a point I left it unlocked to serve a dog ugly old woman, the MBP got stolen when she started to have a go at me I stopped her, asked if she remembers our chat a few months ago when I asked her to file it away, and walked off with the biggest smile on my face.

This isn't really to do with Customer Service, but, oh well!
I was going through the final Security Checkpoint at Ngurah Rai Airport on my way home from Bali last year. It was about Midnight and there was an American Woman.
She had a Bottle in one hand and the Airport Staff asked for the Bottle (This was when the new Aerosol Laws were introduced), which was empty and over 100ml.
Anyway, this American bitch decided to stand there for 15 minutes, arguing her head off with the Balinese Airport Staff. She was saying things such as 'I know my rights, you're not allowed to take it off me' and 'But it's mine, I'm allowed to take it'.
She then stated that she needed to use it for her Morning Walks. I had 3 very tired kids with me; and anyway, she started swearing her head off at the Balinese Airport Officers and her Husband was very embarrassed.
Anyway, some higher Airport Staff came along and started arguing with her. There were about 20 people in the line and we were all having a go at her and telling her to 'Hurry the f*** up!'.
She finally handed over the Bottle after about 15 minutes!
It's a bloody Bottle! You can go to the ****ing Supermarket and buy one for a couple of dollars. She made a massive fuss over one tiny Bottle whilst there were other annoyed, frustrated people like myself and my kids in line waiting!
Her very embarrassed Husband just repeated the words 'Forget it!' about 200 times!
How f***ing stupid was she!

I just remember the other day, some guy complained because he made a purchase about $300. And when asked if he could get anything bonus for it being 'such a large order'. The person at the check out said no. Turns out all he wanted was a free stubbie holder. :o

Free Stubbie holder... makes spending $300 that little bit better.

If you go to Cellarbrations, Vintage Cellars, or anything independently own, they will nearly always give you a discount, or something extra. Just to make you happy, and hope you'll stay loyal.

Companys like Woolworths and Coles won't care at all. They just see that they are losing money, therefore no more discount.

But if it's already heavily discounted (in this case, $10 per case), you shouldn't be complaining.

My local is a BWS, think that's Woolies.

I usually go straight to the checkout, or grab the manager if he's around when I go in...

"I want a carton of Boags Premium, a carton of (whatever's on special), a bottle of Canadian Club, a bottle of Chivas 12+/glenmorangie/etc, and a six pack of assorted wines ($20 range).....what do you want to give me".

I tend to get two sixpack of 'imports' (your $15-20 6s), two four-pack of pre-mixers, or a vodka. Also any glasses/beer holders/etc So basically about $30 extra.

But for that $30 of stuff, I probably spend 200-250. So, about 15%. I found when I wanted $$ discount, it was only ever 5% unless I was spending 4-500.

my thinking would be a liver transplant in around 3 years:eek:

I had a sale day and had a promo on full priced towels take off 50% (excluding sale mark downs) but also had some towels that had been marked down and you take a further 30% off the reduced price and this was clearly marked on all the signage around the store

I had a woman come in and i saw her pick up a bunch of sale towels and then pick up a huge bunch of the full priced towel i knew where this was heading right away

She brought the towels to the counter

I brought up the amount

"Wheres the 80%" she asked

I explained to her what the promo was

"But it says 50% off here and 30% off there"

I explained the promo once again

"Its say 80%" She was becoming very angry

"These are two different promos and the signage explains that the full price towels excluded sale prices"

"I want to speak to a manager"

I explained to her that i was the manager and there was no way i was going 2 give her 80% off all the towels"

She wouldnt back down so i asked her to step aside while i served some customers as the line was building up the people behind were just as shocked as i was she wouldnt have a bar of it so out came the words

"You B*tch this is wrong where is the customer service you shouldn't be a manager"

"Excuse me Ma'me ill have to ask you to not speak to me like that"

"I want my 80% off my f*cking towels"

"Im sorry i cant give you the 80% it is clearly marked as what discount you are entitled"

This was the worst part

"You f*ucking wh*re" she picks up all the towels and throws them at me

One woman behind me actually turned to the woman and said "How dare you"

Lucky my store manager caught the whole thing and asked her to leave the store

and everyone helped me pick up the towels and tidy up

I was holding back tears i was that mad at her

But was later thanked by my store and manager for doing so well

and the funniest thing of it all

On my RDO she came back and took the towels at 50% what a douche bag

Customers make up their own logic when it comes to specials, no matter how simple it is to understand.

If we have a special on beer, for instance "2 cases of VB or $60", that doesn't mean you can buy 1 case for $30, or 3 cases for $90. No, you buy 2 cases, you get it for $60. It's not that hard to understand.

so let me get this clear, you'd do 2 for $60 or 4 for $120 but you wouldn't do 3 for $90, is that correct?

So buy 4, then stand around until someone else wants a carton too.

"psst...maa-aate I got a deal, for you. Don't pay 42 bucks, I'll sell you this one for just 36!!!!"

You could spend all day doing it, and the piss you sunk would be yours for free!!!!!

(bwahahahaahaha ?)

Heard a hilarious one today.

I didn't get the call, but my boss did.

We advertised tastings in some of our stores. One of them was on Saturday, 12pm - 6pm. Customer rang up to complain that this is wrong. He claims that 12pm = 12 o'clock at night, and that this would mean the tasting is running for 18 hours.

My boss tried to explain to him that 12pm is 12 o'clock at lunch time.

Customer explains, that it goes 11:59pm, 12:00pm, then 12:01am.

I thought he was joking, but nope... he was dead serious apparently.

Customer was explaining his 'logic' for about 5 minutes before giving up and hanging up.

You wonder how some people get through life.

I used to work as a Pizza Delivery Boy. One night I did a delivery and I asked the customer if they would like a receipt. She just said "no" without saying "thankyou". Or she might have said thankyou but maybe I didn't hear it because she had a one of those electronic voice things in her throat because of cancer or whatever.

But still, cancer or no cancer, she should have said it louder - RUDE.

We have this promotion at work where you spend $300 and you get $100 off. The $100 comes off each item proportionately, so that if you want to return something you only get refunded what you actually paid for it (i.e. a discounted price). You can use the promotion once, even if you buy stuff and return everything you bought, you can't use it again.

So this woman comes in and spends over $400, she gets $100 off. A while later she comes back wanting to return something. So I refund her the lower price, and she says, "No, I should get the full amount back." I explain the policy to her. And she says, "Even without this item I would still be over $300, so I should get the full amount back." Again I explain the policy. She says, "I understand the policy, but YOU don't understand what I'm saying." I said I understood exactly what she was saying, but that I couldn't do it for her, because it was against store policy.

This went on for about 15 minutes until another staff member came up and totally undermined me by saying, "No that's fine, we can do it."

I was so pissed off :thumbsd:

I hate when managers or whoever can be so weak like that. Last night we had someone come in and order about $70 worth of food on drive through which is annoying enough. Anyway i repeat the order to her and she says yes and drives through. She gets to the window and I repeat it again and she says yes again. I pack it all and double check to make sure its all in there. Anyway about half an hour later we get a call and shes fuming about not getting 4 pieces of chicken or something that she claims she orders. So the manager decides to replace the entire $70 of food  I go to check the order and she didn't even order it, or if she said it, I obviously didn't hear her and didn't charge her for it.

IM SO SICK OF REPEATING ORDERS TO PEOPLE, THEM NOT LISTENING THEN BLAMING ME WHEN THEY DONT GET EVERYTHING THEY WANT!!!!!!!!

The most annoying thing though is that manager didn't even point this out when she came back, he just apologised - for her mistake!! and gave her all that food again

And they wonder why we have so many people scamming us making fake complaints to get free stuff

this happened about a month ago but cbf writing it down originally then i got glandular fever... but its exam time now so its a perfect way to procrastinate

anyway so i work at kfc and our prices went up about a month ago (which you know, is obviously my fault , nothing to do with inflation or a drought or anthing) anyway so one mornign, when it was raining this lady comes through drive through and orders an ultimate meal so i tell her the price over the speaker and tell her to drive through, i packed the meal went to the window, told her the price again and she gave me the money. i then gave her the change and told her how much change it was. she puts her money in her purse then goes, "why was it so much" and i was like sorry the prices just went up, then she started swearing at me saying the menu board had a different price and i was like, oh im sorry we mustnt have changed them yet since its raining and it would obviously be dangerous to change menu boards with electrical lights in the rain  then the dumb bitch started swearing at me saying i had to charge her the price on the menu board and thats the law blah blah blah(insert a whole lot more swearing), but i wasnt going to do it because i cant give refunds, it was the price and mainly just because she was being a bitch and talking down to me.

so she starts going on about how she works in retail and she knows its the law and i have to charge her the price on the menu board. lol anyway im a law student and am doing contract law atm. so i said in my most patient voice - actually no that would be a store policy, then went on to explain about invitation to treat and how the real contract isnt formed until she offers me the money and i accept it. then she starts going on (remember this is with all the swearing) about how this isnt a contract shes just buying food - i looked at her in disbelief and was like ummmm the purchase of goods is the most common form of contract.. then she was like noo i didnt sign anything and i seriously lol'd and was like uh yeh its an oral contract - then she was like theres no such thing as an oral contract and i just stared at her again and didnt no what to say! even her son was embarrased at this point (btw i didnt want to have this arguemnt - i was hanging out the window with her food in my hand waiting for her to take it so i could get out of the freezing cold.) then she grabs the food, but with no intention to drive off goes, well i didnt agree to any contract so i said, fine its simple, you give me the food back and i'll give you your money back and then its simple, no more contract :) the dumb bitch then realised she was wreaked so she instead started going on about how her service is always crap at this store etc but i didnt care anymore, she had her food so i just closed the window and walked off

ANYWAY... about half an hour later the phone rings and my manager has to talk to her for about 10 mins then she says she wants to speak to me for an apology! anyway once my manager forces me onto the phone i was like (in my most bimbo voice) hello? then she snapped HELLO! but didnt say anything , obviously she wanted me to speak first but as if i was gonna give her what she wanted so i said hello again and was like is any one there? anyway that went on for a bit and finally she wsa like, its your disgruntled customer and i was like oh hiiiiiii!!!! haha then she went off at me for a bit telling me how i was a horrible person and how i would never make it as a lawyer because i no nothing about the real world and how for some reason although i may no about law in books that wont get me anywhere as a lawyer  and how she knows all about the law and yeh just basically calling me a horrible human being over and over again, anyway it was so hard not to respond to this moronic tirade but everyone working was standing there watching and jumping up everytime i made a face to stop me answering back.

lol anyway she gets to the end of it without me saying one word, (i had actually stopped listening to the last 2 or 3 minutes) and she comes up with this one, that she had obviously had to ask someone about "an oral contract is where two people talk and make an agreement about something" WHICH IS WHAT I HAD BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG! SHE WAS THE MORON DENYING THAT THERE WAS ANY SUCH THING AS AN ORAL CONTRACT
anyway i think she realised she had wreaked herself because she hung up after that without another word - and i didnt have to apologise (not that there was anyway i was ever going to)

anyway she never ended up complaing to head office (i wouldnt have cared if she did, they love me there) and it turns out our menu boards had had the right prices anyway!!!!!!

but the other day aparently she came in through drive through again and when my friend asked her ot wait she said to her passenger - i hope that law student i told you about is here, im gonna RIP into her! unfortunatly i wasnt... but ive since found out that since ive been out with glandular fever shes been in a few times obviously looking for me and being dissapointed whenever she gets to the window to see its not me, pfft i dont even no what she looks like!!

anyway i hope she comes in again, if she does and starts ripping into me, which will obviously be totally unjustified to whatever the current situation is, i will hand her food out the window and if she doesnt take it i will say fine, you can come inside and get it and close the window and walk off so the managers can deal with her (which obviously i cant get in trouble for - theres nowhere in my contract that says i have to put up with unjustified abuse ... even justified abuse for that matter) if she comes to pick a fight again i'll tell her im informing my area manager and get her banned and if she comes again i'll actually rip into her coz ive been patient enough then inform her that since im such an awesome law student i will be getting a restraining order out on her since she has no right to come in and abuse me in my work place (pfft i have no idea if i can do this but the dumb bitch wont know that)

wow this is the longest thing ive ever written on bigfooty - lol can u tell its exam time? that was a good waste of half an hour!!! sorry to bore you, but seriously!!!!!

According to the trade practices act that customer should have been given the advertised price. KFC can be fined up to $10 million for refusing to comply. (assuming the boards had the wrong price).

but the point is they didnt

i was more referring to this point you made:

I was a bit weirded out when I moved here to the US and no one, literally no one, checks the signature on credit cards. And they wonder why identity theft is at an all-time high. I haven't even signed a couple of my credit cards. There is no point because no one checks them.

I noticed this when I was there last year, it's crazy. My fiancee and I went to a lot of resturants and I was stunned that they never even looked at the back of the card, not once.

I could have found a credit card on the street and used it on numerous occasions. I don't think I'll try that when I move there next year, just my luck someone would check and I'd lose my visa lol.
