Yep a true champ, an example trolls everywhere in how to go about it, to even gain a radio show out of it.

Gonna miss his passionate outbursts. Always good entertainment

I actually have tears in my eyes listening to this final part of the broadcast. Man.

You weren't the only one.

That was very emotional. Poor old KG was a blubbering mess and Cornesy's final words to close it off were very moving - and true.

I've rung KG a few times because I disagreed with him and torn him to shreds (with Cornesy egging me on in the background :D ) but geez I'm gonna miss him.

That was the beauty of KG, because he always promoted comment and emotion, sometimes because he was right and stood up for right, and sometimes because he was a bloody idiot with his views.

As far as I'm concerned I'm genuinely going to miss him and his varying foibles.

Thanks for the memories KG - you gay icon you :D!!

You can download the whole show on the fiveaa website. Or through this link:

It was a very sad show. Sad to see him go.

Mahatma was awesome on Thursday night too.

Yeh, when Greg himself came on and they both lost it it was pretty damn moving.

Ta for the link too. I was hoping that would go up!

Gonna miss KG heaps. Been listening to him for 15 years.

Had to pull over on the way home from work to listen to the last 30 minutes.

Greg Ritchie was awesome, showed heaps of emotion.

Thanks KG, great work.

Sometimes we dig into him but I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed KG Cunningham on the drivetime slot over the last decade or so. I'm going to miss him during the drives home each week.

Yeah i agree he is a SA icon and had been for a bloody long time (credit to him for his longevity) but he should have been retired off 10 if not 15 years ago for someone younger with new and fresh ideas

He truly is a South Australian icon and a true football supporter. I wish him all the best in whatever he does next.

Yeah so do i however IMO KG and Cornes epitomize this state’s mentality, both were at their peak 20 years ago and its only now that one part of the duo has retired (pushed out mind you). For some reason they have been allowed to continue on for 10 years too long. It’s the same mentality SA has as a state; let’s continue to live in the past because it’s easy. In the 1970’s or early 1980’s we where one of the more dominate and proactive state in the nation but now we are so far behind everyone else it’s not even funny. It’s not KG and Cornes fault but IMO that duo epitomize this state.

I don't think you can really compare two sports radio hosts to the culture of South Australia. If people are good at what they do (which KG bloody well was) why wouldn't he continue. It's having people like that in prominent positions which builds culture. You don't just get rid of people in their prime because you can. Look at Letterman, Leno etc all getting on but who cares, everyone loves them.

I don't care what anyone says I always loved KG. I can do an awesome KG impression too.

this just in

the new drivetime "guru" is stehpen rowe (on adelaideNow)

i agree with the sentiments here too, kg was an amazing character, its gonna be hard listenening in now without him. he's gonna be missed.

Well they have replaced like with like by putting in someone who lets emotions get in the way of sensible rational thought.

I listen through the podcasts of KG's last day, now I realize that you can just get a whole heap of people to say seeya when someone retires, but the majority of them sounded like they actually cared for KG, he was clearly we regarded by many people, I think the problem we have in SA is if someone is like KG and loves his state its considered backwards, but the same type of person in the eastern states is considered passionate.

anyway, I used to listen to the SUnday Roast with Rowie and lets face it he has improved out of sight in the last 12 months, he is the best guy for the job because they need someone with a bit of life in him.

The one thing Rowie has is life, with a fair bit of passion to boot. He has improved a great deal and is a far better choice than Bone or that toss Wildy.

As for KG, im just listening to the final day now and wish id heard Greg Ritchie on Thursday and its amazing, a who's who of sport and politics and as Cap said, everyone appeared to generally care about Cunnington and it wont be the same to listen without him.

hey shorty, did you get to hear the Mahatma podcast? Just asking because you were saying you wished you heard him on Thursday but I don't know if you mean you didn't get to hear him until just recently, or you didn't get to hear him at all. I have an MP3 of it if you want it.

A lot of people seem to dislike Rowe and yet, for most of the reasons they don't like him, I adore listening to him :p He can be a complete tool but he's so entertaining to listen to and really, is the closest thing SA radio has to KG Cunningham. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the table next year.

KG had a great career but I have never been a huge fan.

I think both of them didn't do enough reseach considering it was their jobs and their factual blunders alone were very poor. Not to mention their highly opinonated stance on many issue where they refuse to listen to other side.

So, in my view no big loss but nevertheless I congratulate him on his career as lots of people do seem to like him.
