He seems to be relatively cheap for someone averaging 25 touches and 6 marks, compared to what else is at the same price he's a standout, was thinking if my emergency can cover the first couple of weeks Id be right, I guess its a gamble if it turns out to be a long term injury

My Line-Up

Value… Cornes broke his hand last year and was limited, Drum will get more run time this year, Brown wasn’t used a lot by North, Maguire – cheap, Egan – extremely cheap. I think I have a good mix of players here with majority playing some time in the midefield.

Centres: B.Harvey (NM) D.Kerr (WC) C.Masten (WC) B.Cousins (Rich) J.Lewis (Haw) T.Cotchin (Rich) S.Sidebottom (Coll) D.Beams (Coll)

Quality mixed with youth. Cotchin and Masten will no doubt improve on impressive starts to their careers. Lewis is undervalued. Harvey, quality. Kerr and Cousins add quality assuming they’re injury free and all there mentally. Taking a punt on Cousins but I think it’ll be worth it.

Rucks: D.Cox (WC) M.Kreuzer (Carl) B.Hudson (WB) M.Leuenberger (Bris)

My weak point last year until I bought Cox in about round 13. Then he went on to injure himself and lose some effectiveness. 2 up and coming ruckmen with 1 star and Hudson is an unknown depending on how he returns from injury. Good value though.

Forwards: L.Franklin (Haw) D.Thomas (Coll) T.Cloke (Coll) J.Kennedy (WC) J.Riewoldt (Rich) A.Edwards (NM) H.Skipworth (Ess) J.Watts (Melb) C.Yarran (Carl)

Probably my weak point at this stage. Thomas may be a little overrated by some but I think he’ll improve and Cloke will get back to 2007 form. Kennedy was a target late in the season for West Coast last year. North don’t have a great forward line so I think Edwards will get a fair bit of game time. Skipworth is the most undervalued player on Supercoach. What do you say about Buddy. Some will say he’ll get double teamed all year and not be effective. I say, another pre-season, added strength, speed, stamina… unstoppable again!

Overall I’m happy with my team at this stage. Yes, I’ve gone with a few Collingwood players (maybe a little bias) but they’re players that will be important to the team. There’s some injury clouds across some players (Cox, Hudson, Kerr, Maguire, Egan) but they’re all worth taking a punt on. Also have some young kids that if they play early on, will rocket in value.

What does everybody think?

Man that's a very average team and wont get very far.

Just being honest, needs a hell of alot more work to get anywhere this season! :o

Also guys, this forum is getting too clogged full of people asking for comments on their team.

How about after you post your team, you also comment on another one. Just to even things up a little :)

I agree. So many people post their fricken teams in here yet there's not many people that are willing to offer any feedback on them.

You cant have your cake and eat it peoples. :o

My team:

Backs:
Waite, Bock, C Cornes, Adcock, Myers, Henderson, S Hill (A Rance, D O'Keefe)

Mids:
Bartel, Judd, Kerr, Cousins, Masten, Rich (Beams, T Swift)

Rucks:
Cox, Ottens (Vickery, Cordy)

Forwards:
Harvey, Franklin, Deliedio, R Murphy, Lucas, Higgins, Yarran (Ziebell, Gumbleton)

$10,400 left.

Thoughts?
I think your taking a big risk having 1st year players in the starting line up!

Strong backline, not a fan of Tarkyn myself but he could be solid
Nice midfield, good mix there
Cant go wrong with Cox and Leuenberger is a bit 50/50, could work
Forward line first 3 strong, after that its a bit of a gamble but thats how you do well in this thing.

Overall probably the best team i've seen on here.

think this is a really good solid looking team, any feedback would be great.

-------
BACKS
-------

L.Hodge
C.Newman
G.Birchall
X.Ellis
S.Buckley
N.Malceski
D.Myers
-------
S.Hill
M.Hurley
--------

Backs look good, have a good spread, like the looks of Buckley, still young, plays midfield, and being named as a back is a real steal too, Myers is tipped for great things this year after showing some promising signs this year too, am not quite sold on having three hawks (Birchall, Hodge, Ellis) in the backline, although I am sure that Hodge will play a little bit more midfield this year, and Birchall has been a permanent consistant scorer in S.C last few years. Some considerations were: Ellis for one of G.Urquart, J.Nash, R.Houlihan (Apparently tearing it up on the track). Also looking at not picking Hill instead for one of Rance or Suban.

MIDFIELD
----------

C.Judd
N.Dal Santo
B.Gibbs
B.Cousins
M.Coughlan
A.Swallow
---------
M.Robinson
T.Swift
---------

Really like the look of this midfield, the price of Cogs is too hard to beat for a former B&F winner, at $456,000, Cousins is a steal, considering he is fresh and raring to go by all reports, Gibbs is ready to take the comp by storm and thought he was a good get, especially at the reasonable price of 500,000, and many options with the rookies, but Robbo will play this year, and do many good things for the blues, and Swift will be a starter round 1 i may imagine.

D.Cox
B.Ottens
--------
T.Goldstein
J.White
--------

Really good ruck division too, am not completely sold on Cox this year, and am highly considering changing to Petrie with his variety of positions, may be able to score higher than the bix Cox. Ottens gets the nod with his ability to play forward and kick big bags over players like Macintosh and Simmonds, White from Sydney may play later in the year and will be a good cash cow, as well as Goldstein, as some have tipped him to be the #1 ruck after his promising debut last year.
____________________________________________________________ _

B.Harvey
M.Pavlich
S.Lucas
A.Edwards
S.Higgins
S.Sidebottom
C.Yarren
----------
H.Balantyne
T.Walker
-----------

Am not completely sold on this formation up front, especially with 4 'so - so' rookies in the line up, although all are genuine cash cows, and alot of other youngsters available at the same price or there abouts, like Edwards at his price as he takes alot of contested marks and may play closer to home this year, making him able to kick lots more goals. Lucas is also a good steal at his price, a proven S.C performer, along with Pavlich, and Harvey is now the new N.M captain, so will really step up this year.

All this, but only have a lousy $2,700 left in the savings account :(

any thoughts on upgrading, degrading, trades or players to look at consider will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

What?
He's got Higgins, Malceski, Brown, Haselby, Cousins and Leuenberger all in one team?

The midfield is not strogn enough if your only having 3 good forwards. Better of downgrading Hasebly or Cousins to Boak or someone and hopefully getting another premium in there.

Marc Murphy is also a DT player rather then SC...

90% of teams i've seen on here have atleast 2 of Higgins, Malceski, Haselby. They're cheap guys who will make you money early on and might even turn out keepers

Whats wrong with Brown? I dont see a problem there

Cousins is a risk he's willing to take.. so what? To win this comp you have to take risks. Same goes for Leuenberger who could be a decent 2nd ruck if he gets the opportunities.

probably a good idea to downgrade sandilands to ottens or macintosh to improve your forward line.

BTW its a good thing you have plenty of collingwood players, there all guns ;)

thoughts on my team ?

Backs: Gilbee Cornes Mackie Adcock Houlihan Petterd Rance
Mids: Judd Cooney Thompson Selwood Griffen D.Rich
Ruck: Ottens Charman
Fwd: Deledio J.Brown Murphy S.Johnson Porplyzia Lucus Higgins
I think you should downgrade one of Brown/SJ in the forwards and one of Thompson/Griffen in the mids so you can use more cash on your backs and rucks. You could then upgrade Petterd or Rance and hopefully upgrade Ottens to Cox. Just my opinion though, pretty good side overall.

I think your taking a big risk having 1st year players in the starting line up!
Nope.

1st year players are required to go the distance in this comp.

Mid tier players are the danger.
