I went for 4/5 good scoring reliable players in each area and the rest as potentials/risk players.

Backline: H Shaw, C Cornes, J Adcock, X Ellis, R Houlihan, A Raines, M Tyler, Emergencies: L Henderson, J Laidler

Midfield: C Judd, S Pendlbury, J Selwood, D Kerr, J Lewis, C Morton, D Emergencies: Rich, M Robinson

Rucks: Jolly, McIntosh Emergencies: J Meeson, D Currie.

Forwards: Pavlich, Deledio, Johnson, J Roughead, S Lucas, P Veszpremi, J Ziebell, Emergencies: S Gumbleton, S Higgins.

So what I was thinking is get a solid core: Shaw, Cornes, Judd, Pendlebury, Selwood, Pavlich, Deledio, Johson and then look for under-priced players from there.

Lewis and Roughead are hawks that I reckon will be given bigger roles and will do well out of it this year.

Clearly I ran out of cash and have put Tyler, Henders and Laidler (who?) in the backline as they were cheap. Where have I overspent and what can I do???

Personally, I think you've over-spent with Higgins on the bench. Either needs to start, or not at all. Better off switching him with Taylor Walker or Mitch Brown (WCE) and using the money to upgrade your backline.

Considering Hartlett is just about no chance for round 1 I struggle to see how anyone with a zero in the first week has a "solid team".

As i said in my post he is a big risk, besides the players i stated in the midifield i think the backs and forwards will be very competative!

I'm not very good at this but here goes:
McLeod worries me with injury, and age. Not sure how many games he played last year but in my mind there's a question over his durability.

Bartel, Hodge and Harvey for mine are over-priced. They have to have extremely strong starts to warrant their price. Hodge has had a slightly hindered preseason and Bartell's role seems to be changing with Selwood stepping up. Franklin might even be overpriced at this point.

Minson is a very good pick as a second ruck imo.

McLeod for Meyers maybe and free up some $$$?????????

Bartel for Mitchell & $$$$$ ???????

B-Ryder doesn't score much try malceski.
M-Midfield is too week Judd,Kerr,Selwood are keepers but need to upgrade one of the other 3.
R-Good
F-Solid forward line though not sure if yarran will play. Maybe try S.Lucas for porplezia(injury prone) to get some extra cash for midfield.

Pretty good.

Only concern is your backline, with players like Grimes, Hill, Hurley, and to a lesser extent - Mackie.
