Slow starts for a number of the potential 'keepers' is promising for those of us who don't have them.

Hodge, Bartel, Harvey, Black, Shaun Burgoyne, Kirk, Nick Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Pav, Delideo, Bowden, Mackie ...

Who are you waiting on with 'baited breath' to trade some of your cash cows on?

Already have Bartel, Pav & Delideo

Hodge & Riewoldt are in teams that should keep getting better and both look like they will bounce back - maybe too soon :-( Thinking Bowden might be looking good too when Tigers get going

As for the rest think I personally will stay clear unless they are absolute bargains - Nth Melb, Port, Syd, Bris aren't looking too good ... already suffering with Pavs performance in a woeful Freo team

Hodge is 1 to look at

will drop by a massive 60K this week and even if he scores 100+ in the next 2 weeks will drop more

But is it too soon as mentioned by the OP?

I guess it depends on who your cows are and when they peak, but you want to get value for money from your cows

i think it depends on your cows performances and when they are peaking, and are about to slide

Already have Jimmy & Pav. Will certainly be looking at welcoming Hodgy & Roo into my team over the coming weeks. Also keeping a close watch on Pendles. A lazy $196K in the bank will help matters when it comes to cashing in the cows.

You would rather pull the trigger too early than too late when upgrading cash cows to keepers.

Why keep M. Robinson (for example) for an extra week to make $20k if you can trade upto a proven gun? The gun has the potential to make a greater score which you could miss waiting on the $20k from Robinson.

B/E's dictate when trades should occur to some extent, but if an affordable gun has the potential to score big in the coming week dont wait IMO.

This caper is about total points after 22 rounds not dollars.

Think it's pointless in upgrading a cow yet, If Robinson rises 100K(not going to just speculative) and Hodge drops 60K you are still over 350K away from a swap so would have to upgrade a mid-tier/keeper to bring in the gun. If you wait another 3 weeks when Robinson has had 4 price rises to gain 200K and Rich has done the same you can downgrade one and sell the other up to Hodge.

Wouldn't hold ya breath.

Got an easy 100 point flogging to hand out in round 4 which should help kick start things.

Hoping Tigers get absolutely smashed this week and Bowden goes missing next week against Melbourne while they are sorting out a stable starting rotation (eg into the backline and never sees the ball against Melb).

That gives 5,6,7 against roos, syd and bris for his score to level out. Might be a good pickup before Rd 6, 7 or 8 is he was down around $450k

Then they have the great run of Port, Essendon, Freo, (Bulldogs) & West Coast over Rd 8-12 as well the very appealing West Coast game in Rd 22 (would be good assuming a league GF berth).

Cooney in the mix.

Trust me to pick Cooney, Harvey, Pavlich and Hodge.

And put Mitchell as captain in his only bad week.

Hi,
i was wondering if any of you knew anything about the SC price system..... do previous rounds affect the price? for instance, say if player a has risen by 20k in the first three rounds, and then scores a breakeven (a's starting price + 20k divided by "magic number), would his price still increase? another example is say if player B's starting price (at the start of the year) was 100k, and he (after three rounds) is now 150 k, and then scores a breakeven for someone on 150 k, would his price still increase (aka momentum??) This applies to my team in the way that i am considering swapping chapman or goodwin for Harvey, but if momentum carries over, i will wait a few more rounds before snapping Harvey up.... Thanks
a lot
MIchael.

^^tooserious

Im annoyed at myself for bringing Hodge in at the start of the season after all the hawks have a tough run, Hodge is underdone talk etc yet decided to listen to the BF talk about Goddard is injured and got rid of him.. D'oh.

Ive got Lids and Bartel as well but im confident all 3 will come good.. just could have got them cheaper but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Meh. Everyone will want them by the end of the year... and you won't have to use trades to get 'em. Whatev.

I don't care about keepers in my team losing their value; unless of course it's a Heath Shaw-like plummet. Lids and Jimmy B and Pav will all be good at some stage this year.

Im looking at Hodge, Coondog, Riewoldt, Bartel and Harvey.
Tooserious says, Adam Cooney could drop below 400k in his next 3 games and also Brent harvey to around 400k. Doubt they will drop this much, but it would be very nice :):)

Faz... yssc? ----- tradedin roo last week for skip :):)

my only premium big dropper is hodge.. oh as well as houli and s. stevens once theyve played 3 and roo, but got him and his lowest peak, so dind't lose any money (and goodwin if you include 30k as a big drop (NEWMAN)
premium risers include goddard, drummo, GAJ, NDS,

Hodge, Fisher, Black, Mitchell and Bartel are my 5 biggest upgrade targets. Already pretty much finished with my forwards and rucks, all are premiums except for Krakouer and you could argue about Higgins (I got him as a keeper, personally).

The word on the street is that Bartel will have his best week for the season this week in the wet down at SS. Like with Roo, you may have missed the boat

completely different. Roo had a low BE, whereas Bartel has a high one. even if he scores 150 he won't rise too much in price.

somewhat different, but not completely different. Bartel scored 122 last week and has a BE of 138 this week. If he scores 150 this week his price will only rise about 4k, but due to two good scores in a row and the fact this is 150 would effect his price over 3 weeks, he would likely be 600k plus after round 6.
Some people seem to be indicating that his price is likely to bottom out around the time that rookie cash cows will peak. If he scores big this week his price may already have bottomed out.

point taken tho
