Re: All 2008 dream team questions here please (or else!!).

Is Ballantyne any chance for round 1, have heard hes a chance for round1 by posters than by others he will be playing WAFL at about rounds 3-5.

Suban and Broughton i think will both close to best 22 from round 1. Suban in the paper was named on the bench in best 22. You guys have a good 4 or 5 from best 22 suffering with injuries so i think their a big chance to play early games. What are freo supporters thoughts on this?

Re: All 2008 dream team questions here please (or else!!).

The thing with Suban and Broughton is that while both might get early games, they are no certainty to keep their spots in the team for any length of time.

Des Headland, Dean Solomon, Adam Campbell, Chris Mayne and Hayden Ballantyne are all around the mark for our best 22. Campbell and Mayne should be back in the team fairly early, and I'd expect Ballantyne to be given a shot as soon as he is fit. Brock O'Brien is on the fringes too, and had a very good pre-season.

Solomon is back in Round 2, and lets say Campbell, Mayne and Ballantyne between Rounds 3 and 5. In order to fit those guys in, I would imagine Broughton and Suban would be two of the first to go. They would need to have very good starts to keep their spots ahead of some of the more senior guys. Although they should hopefully be ahead of guys like Peake, Murphy and Thornton.

So even if they play Round 1, they are not guaranteed a game past Round 3 or 4. Which means you could end up getting just one price rise out of them, which ideally is not what you want from a bench player.

It will be interesting to see how much of an opportunity Broughton and Suban get. Both look suited to playing on the 6 foot 1 forwards who often kick multiple goals against us but I wouldn't be surprised to see the match committee select Scottie "Super Dud" Thornton ahead of them.

I doubt Suban is going to be playing on any forwards, he looks like playing in the midfield and from a forward flank. If he can get into the first few games and get a bit of the ball, I feel he has a good chance of holding his position when some "best 22" players return. He can already kick better than most of his teammates and these skills must be utilised.

Hi guys, first I just would like to wish you good luck against St.Kilda I reckon you've got a reasonable chance of winning for what its worth!

I was just wondering if you can give me a bit of insight to the tagging situation in your game, who do you reckon Crowley will go to out I'm thinking NDS or Goddard, but there are a number of outside options such as Gram, Montagna and Hayes as well. Also does your team have any other taggers besides Crowley?

Cheers and thanks in advance, The 30 Spartans.

Hey guys, just a quick one -

I can't find any info anywhere on Broughtons ankle. He wasn't on any injury lists anywhere either, anyone know how bad it is and how long he is set to be out for?

Cheers.

Hey Dockers.

Haven't seen any Freo games this year, so I have no clue as to why the normally studly Pav is not scoring well this year. Whats the story? Is he languishing in a forward line that lacks supply or what? Is he getting time on the ball? I thought he'd play further up the ground this year.

Is there reason to believe he'll turn it around, or should I cut my losses?

Thanks in advance.

pav is a superstar, and one would think that he would get back to his best. part of the reason for his average form is because of the crappy rolling zone game plan we had adopted, however this week it seems we are giving that away to play more attacking footy which will help him, couple that with the fact that he loves playing the swans and you get a good score this week. if he doesnt perform this week, then i would consider looking at other options

Re: Changes V Egirls

Firstly i know you blokes probably dont like people asking Dream Team questions, apologies in advance but Broughton, how bads his ankle, will he come back through the WAFL? Or is he a chance to come in this week you think?

Hi Dockers, well done on your win this week. Question: am considering trading in Michael Johnson for Malceski (I have the cash to do so)...is he the type to always hold his place in the team and rack up reasonable numbers? To be honest I haven't seen much of your team this year.

Maybe Mundy is a safer bet than MJ?

I am probably overexposed already with Pav, Hill and Suban but Johnson looks to be in good form and pretty consistent.

Also, how far off is Broughton? would like to swap him in for Petrenko. Is Broughton likely in your best 22 when fit?

Good luck next week in your Derby.

MJ will usually rack up some good stats, but if I were to choose between MJ and Mundy, I would probably go with Mundy TBH.

My thoughts on Broughton are that he is still an unknown quantity. He played a good game in his one appearance so far, but now that he's had a couple of weeks off through injury, he will most likely have to prove himself again.

My gut feeling on Broughton is that he is a 20-25 player. He will force his way in soon enough, no doubt, but will be one of those players that has play well every week to keep his spot (unlike others who seem to get a bit of a free ride regardless of their output). Broughton would be a bit of a risk at this stage, IMO. He still needs time to establish himself. Long term I think he's a keeper and will play a fair few games at this level, but to trade him in for DT points right now might not be such a good idea.

Hi Docker fans, I have both Hill and Suban in Supercoach and want to downgrade one of them for cash to a rookie after round 6. From reading the boards, both Suban and Hille are looking solid/improving. Who has more job security? Are their any likely inclusions soon that could see their role change/get dropped? Thanks for any info.

Hill seems to be getting more of the footy each week. He is not getting much attention at this stage either running in from the wing. Suban has remained fairly consistent. Both will continue to get games for the year I think, maybe a week or two rest.

Basically a flip of the coin IMO but for scoring purposes I think Hill wil provide higher scores on average. (will kick a few goals and is a good tackler).

Hi guys quick question, How long will Hill keep his spot in the team and also greg Broughton is he likely to be back in the team within the next 2 weeks?????
Thanks in advance
