Settle down mate. I have stated before that i havent seen him play.
There is thread on drafts and trading and it was stated on their that he cant kick, so if you have an issue take it up with him.
I more than anyone hope its incorrect

thats alright del, I do nothing more than challenge people to be accountable for what they say...if they say he cant kick, well now I find out no-one has actually seen him play...enough said:rolleyes:

who you been listening to, last oppoenent he dished up:confused:, all reports Ive read are he's angry little ant that has a fair crack...bit of a diff huh, if hes related to freezer, know what story Id believe
No, one of his teammate's has stated it. I've seen him live once and it wasn't noticeable either way, but I'll check it out this w/e.

I take it you've seen him play Barnzy?

Nope I haven't, I'm taking the people in the draft forums word for it. Have you seen him play? If you think he has good - elite kicking skills I'll take your word for it.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

  • Kevin Sheahan praised him saying he looks a very good "hard inside footballer"
  • Richmond have applied to have Josh Free down to train with them over the next three months, which your allowed to do with potential father-sons
  • Measurements: 176cm, 78kg

at those dimensions 17yo he'll fill out to a decent 84kg midfielder...considering we're putting a line thru 9 or so players , pretty sure we'll find him a spot with R8 selection

They look like Foley's Measurments, could be come a player, whats his strengths and weakness?

i seriously cant believe people have started baggin this kid already .. geez .. doesnt take long for tiger fans to start does it !!

he will still grow a little longer. he is worth a late pick, there is still along way untill draft day so he will improve and when he is down training with us we will help fix him up. he is getting in the bests atleast so that is a good sign.

So lets say he dominates and plays well. what pick?
If he plays well enough, someone might bid a 2nd rounder for him, which means we'd have to match it with our next pick. I can't see anyone bidding any higher than a 2nd rounder for a small, not overly quick, not overly skilled inside midfielder...even if he does tear it up.

No way would we need 2nd round pick. At worst (best) we would need a 4th or 5th rounder for him. All Australian Championship players normally fill out the top 25 picks and then its generally SA and WA boys who played a combination of both senior SANFL, WAFL and championship matches.

Free didn't even make it into Vic Country. On top of this he is a 5'10" rover with no real goal sneak abilty or break neck pace, just about the most common player in the TAC. Most of the time it's this type of player who wins the Mourish Medal but still isn't even rookie listed.

Teams aren't going to bid anything higher then a 4th or 5th round pick on him. Teams won't be spiteful enough to be a 2nd round pick just so we have to use ours, I'm pretty sure they have a silent code of conduct and ethics they all adhere too, unless they're a stand (Ayce Cordy, last year)

The main thing he has going for him from all reports though is that he is a footballer and wants to be an AFL footballer. With the right conditioning he would definatly gain extra pace and could turn out to be like a Sam Mitchel - not overally fast, but quick. Personally I like picking footballers over athletes. Foley, Newman, Cotchin, Edwards, Morton, Riewoldt, etc are all footballers. In saying that, Goodes, Deledio, Natuitini, Brennan have also shown athlete first and footballer second can be really damaging

I would have said 4th or 5th rounder too. But in an extreme scenario...lets say from here on in he averages 35 disposals @ 90%, 10 clearances, 8 tackles, or something ridiculous...theres a possiblity someone could bid a 2nd rounder. But regardless of what he does from here on, hes not likely to go any higher than that even if he pulls out some freaky performances.
