Des better have a blinder, i would have him on the "doubtful" list for contract renewals at the end of the year.

Mcpharlin loose man in defense if we can get it... shit he was awful last week going forward.

- Ibbo could have probably done with a break, instead of Broughton to be honest, but he has had a bit more of a run in the 22, and should be able to handle whatever tagging job he is fronted with.

WTF???? Why the hell would you give IBBO a break? Have you been watching the same games as me? You never rest you best players. Maybe the younger ones may need it at some stage but Ibbo is hardly young!

Ibbo's disposal was SHOCKING last week. Maybe he does need a break.

First half for sure, but he picked up as the game went on. Though he's still young, he's a "best 22" player in his third year, he stays in. There are plenty others that would 'deserve' the rest before him.

A word on Thornton, I'm not anti the in/out, UNLESS it means Thornton moves back to defence. He's been a good player as the defensive fwd who gets dangerous at times, but any time he goes back of centre he just becomes a liability.

David Hale - Antoni Grover
Aaron Edwards - Chris Tarrant
Lindsay Thomas - Steven Dodd
Drew Petrie - Luke McPharlin

As for some other match-ups...

Daniel Wells - Garrick Ibbotson
Gavin Urquhart - Scott Thornton (defensive forward again, leave him out of the back line)
Adam Simpson - Byron Schammer
Jack Ziebell - Matt de Boer

Good post there will be some very interesting key matchups I think.

I think Tarrant will get Hale who was been playing as a permanent FF this year.

I would like to see Firrito go with Pav all over the ground. I've noticed Pav mostly being played as a midfielder this year so that will be a good matchup and if Pav goes forward Firrito will be able to deal with that better than some. Saw Freo v Hawthorn and that was vintage Pav we need to stop him.

Goldstein/McIntosh vs Sandilands will be a good 1. I hope we have got some good tactics against Sandi because we are one of the few teams equipt to take him down. Petrie has been playing around the ball and on the wings a bit this year so I would not be surprised if he is 3rd man up in a lot of contests with Mc and Sandi.

Rawlings hard tag on Hasleby. Haze having a great year coming back from injury and I would like us to use Rawlings as a hard tag. This one is pretty obvious to me but Rawlings has been used in a range of different roles in the last few years and doesn't always tag.

I notice De Boer being used to tag and with Boomer out u would expect him to go to Wells. Wells has been playing a number of different roles this year in the fwd line and off half back as well as the middle. If he goes to half back then probably Thornton will play that defensive HF role he has been doing. If Wells picks up where he left off against Kane Cornes then I would expect him to chop up either of these blokes but as we know sometimes he doesn't come to play.

Should be a good game :thumbsu:
