I really hope this injury/problem won't have too much of an impact on his season.

Obviously having been unavailable for all pre-season matches, he's going to 1. have less of a base to work off and 2. won't be back for several weeks.

It's hard to tell though, because he isn't a big name player and this injury has been kept very quiet.

Too true. What's going on? I just checked out the AFL injury list and it has him listed for another 3 weeks? WTF???!!! The Essendon site says he is "progressing well from quad tendonitis", however i'm sure he was listed as a 3-4 week injury 3-4 weeks ago.
