I had a top 50 list, but I find it to hard to construct one, I managed to, but its poorly done, and didn't add up.

So, here's my round 1-11 2009 AA side.

B: B.Goddard M.Scarlett J.Adcock

HB: A.Goodes S.Fisher J. Corey

C: L.Montagna C.Judd D.Swan

HF: S.Pendlebury N.Riewoldt P.Chapman

FF: S.Johnson B.Fevola L.Davis

FOLL: D.Cox G.Ablett N.Dal Santo

INT: L.Hayes H.Mcintosh J.Selwood R. O'Keefe

Emergencies: N.Bock, R. O'Keefe, J. Porplyzia, A. Sandilands
Coach: Ross Lyon

Close, but this is the definitive half-way mark All Australian Team

B: L. Gilbee M. Scarlett C. Bolton
HB: B. Goddard S. Fisher C. Enright
C: N. Dal Santo L. Montagna J. Selwood
HF: A Lovett N. Riewoldt J. Akermanis
F: S. Johnson B. Fevola C. Riloi
R: D. Jolly C. Judd G. Ablett Jr
Int: D. Swan D. Cox S. Thompson A. Selwood
Coach: Ross Lyon

Be reminded that this is a team that could actually play, i.e 2 Ruckmen, enough talls, enough midfielders for rotation.

Can't see Selwood or Lovett being in there.

Chapman, Pendlebury, L Davis, Hayes, Goodes would be very unlucky to miss out if those two are selected

Lovett has been very under-rated this year, getting 20 a game now, and 31 last match in a losing team. Add that on with his elite kicking and blistering pace, he well and truly deserves to be there.

What position? He is definitely behind at least 15 midfielders. Davis, Chapman, Johnson, Rioli, Goodes, Higgins etc, would probably be ahead on a HF flank.

B: J.Drummond - M.Scarlett - T.Lockyer
HB: B.Goddard - S.Fisher - J.Corey
C: D.Swan - C.Judd - A.Goodes
HF: L.Hayes - N.Riewoldt - S.Higgins
F: S.Johnson - B.Fevola - L.Davis
R: D.Cox - G.Ablett - L.Montagna

I: M.Boyd - H.McIntosh - N.Dal Santo - J.Selwood

Coach: Mark Thompson

Hayes can't be on the HF line. Now that they do a squad, he has to be in the middle. Guys like Higgins, Goodes, Davis, Davey and Goddard might be selected as a forward or back but Hayes is definitely a midfielder.

FB: Drummond Scarlett Adcock

HB: Goddard Fisher Enright

C: Montanga Hayes Goodes

HF: S.Johnson Riewoldt Higgins

FF: Davis Fevola Chapman

Foll: Mcintosh Judd Ablett

Int: Dal Santo Selwood Swan Lovett

Coach: Ross Lyon

FB: Presti Scarlett Drummond
HB:Goddard Fisher Enright
C: Montagna Judd Sewell
HF: Davis Riewoldt S.Johnson
FF: Rioli Fevola Lockyer
R: Cox Ablett Selwood

Int: Dal Santo, McIntosh, Goodes, Swan

Coach: Lyon

My team is dominated by Vic teams. Cant think of too many players from non-Vic teams who are doing that well
Obviously ive got a bit of bias with the MULTIPLE pies players, but i think they all have had great seasons to date.

I dont think that anyone really deserves the FF spot atm. So i just went with Fev

Lockyer would be the type of player that would have made multiple AA B sides over his career.

Always been that little bit off being a genuine star. Won't make AA.

I'd put Steve Johnson in the pocket. Then you can pick guys like Chapman, Higgins and Giansiracusa on the flank. LeCras or Porplyzia in the pocket is another option.

Already got Stevy J at HFF
IMO Higgins is a midfielder
Chapman has missed too many games with injury
LeCras had a good first few but hasnt done that much since
Porplyzia has been ok. Spose he could take that spot

Just think for a pure small forward (as Lockyer has been this year) hes done a great job.
8th in the league for marks is a far effort for a small forward

I couldnt think of too many other small forwards having a goods start to season
Porplyzia, but he's not Victorian so I doubt he'll be selected. And Bock, despite his off field discretion and 2 games off with a hammy is easily still the best CHB in the AFL. I don't believe Fisher has been playing as well as say last year, stats look good because ball is rarely down there due to the Saints midfield. LeCras would be another for that FP role, even Knights on the HFF by years end if form continues. But we all know how many Victorians get a free ride into the AA team (aka Judd). Sandilands as first ruck as well this year, Cox not having his usual impact (still on the bench though). I also can't see why Swan gets a gig, I love the way he plays, but he's no way near as damaging as other midfielder's (I'd have Pendlebury ahead from the Pies midfield), but if sheer weight of possessions gets a pass into the team, then Swan by a mile. Don't disagree with many of the teams posted so far apart from what I've explained above.

And how often does Lockyer play in the foward line? I see him on the HBF more than often getting the cheap marks (it's not his fault, Collingwood's game plan doesn't help). Sure he kicks a couple of goals every now and then, but I wouldn't call him a great FP.

I think you got this year mixed up with 2003 or something...
Lockyer has been playing predominantly as a lead up forward...
I havent seen him on the HBF for any great length of time
