Garth played had a shocker wore no 36 instead of no 5.Saw a good game of footy with Stewart playing a sensational last quarter also no 15 from Marby played well.

Sad to hear about Jellal Sleiman passing away my heart goes out to his family and Roxy football club

Saw that game and Jacko just monstered him and gave him nothing. Stuart had a massive influence in the last qtr when it was needed as he was down on what he had produced in recent weeks.

Marby also had some key players out. Kinnear, Laverde, Palmer were all out and to still win was a big effort.

well well well simon potter returns to this league. a few word to sum up him up SOFT, GIRL and NO HEART could handle gfl so no he returns couldn't cut it at werribee and couldn't cut it at st albans.

On behalf of the Jacana Football Club, we would like to send our condolences to the Sleiman family and too all that knew him personally.

He is a great person and a terriffic young footballer.

Best Wishes,

Jacana Football Club

Bizarre that there has not been much talk of it as yet, but will Dean Rioli last the season before being sacked? Great to see the number of younger players getting a game which augurs well for the club's future but I think you'll find that has been largely due to the massive exodus of players from 08 who couldn't stand him and he has done very poorly in recruiting any new talent in 09. Abers destined to finish 8th or 9th will not be a good result and someone must be to blame?

I do not think Dean Rioli has been so bad this season. We have been very close in both Avondale matches (can't believe they got us on the weekend), knocked off Craigieburn & Strathmore and were very good against Marbo Park. Other than the Doutta's game, we haven't been as bad as last year. Even though we sit so low.
It is just that this comp is just ridiculosly strong player standard wise (exceprt for Glenroy who would be 9- 10th B Grade tops).

Heard the Marbo v Keilor game was a cracker. Both teams looking at their list on the internet seemed to have good players out - Keilor, Prowse, Micca James, Ball and Clinnick. Marbo - Ziros, Kinnear, LAverde, Buttigug.
Was told Broadbent, Bullen and Ayres tore Keilor apart and that Barling is an absolute machine.
How did Holland and Hartigan go for both teams? Anybody there?

Has Rabee Haoucher retired???

Close - Bull Shit,

Abers have again failed to live up to the hype of preseason !!!!

All the talk preseason was about Dean experience at AFL level the respect by the players etc etc etc.

All of this should get you over the line in close games, clearly the players are not behind him or he lacks the ability to come up with something to close out the tight ones,

big deal you beat SM and CB, nothing to make a season

Unfortunately they dont record seasons as being nearly a good one as you got close a couple of times,

Back to the drawing board in 2010, and no doubt more talking up the fortunes of the two blues

Ease up on abers and worry about Keilor Park you slob...you seem to have some sort of vendetta against Aberfeldie all because you couldn't get a game there.

Players who left from last year: Willoughby (played about half the year), Peterson (played 7 games), Savage, Lerm (barely played), Shep (obviously a huge loss)..cant think of anyone else but will be a few more?

Not exactly a mass exodus you ****ing idiot.

Mate you are the one telling me earlier this year how good you will be, how Dean will be a massive improvement at the club,

The last guy only stated the obvious,

He is on big coin, there is huge expectation, and again no results ???

Oh and there is no vendetta, just the same opportunities to pot them come up around this time of the year, every year, every year after this being the next big thing,

:D

possibly the worst comment i have heard. name the players who have left? apart from shep (who retired) we havent lost anyone of note.

the reason we lost on weekend wasnt rioli's fault. we had plenty of chances to win the game & it was same problem we have faced of not being ruthless enough to bury a side when we are on top.

to avondales credit they kicked their goals in the last 1/4 & that was the difference.

got to love cowards who sit back taking easy shots.

You Abers people wouldn't cope it as bad if you didn't blow your own tyres up so much.

I can remember early people from Abers posting Douttas were crazy for appointing Barnes and that it would blow up in there faces and Rioli was going to take the club to finals and all the rest of it. I believe the exact opposite is happening.

ha ha laughable. Did he not return your sister's phone calls? Don't think anyone from "our" league needs any run down on his ability. One player who actually does let his footy do the talking

I dont know Potter and i dont know how he fared in other comps/teams etc but everytime ive seen him play in the EDFL he has been very very good ;)

And i dont mean to harp on Abers as it been talked about to death but they must feel like the Tigers supporters in terms of promising signs before the season but with no results on field,im guessing some of the sopporters down there must be fed up by the lack of success or improvement of recent times.

West Coburg legend Rabee Haouchar has retired from footy

He was on the verge of being dropped to the 12pm game and has decided to hang up the boots!

This weeks tips

Doutta d Eagles by 37 points - the Stars are flying!
Abers d Heights by 26 points - past great Shane Heather to return
Mores d Glenroy by 129 points - too strong
Greenvale d Burgers by 84 points - No Rabee!
Keilor d Marbi by 21 points - only running with 2 jets at the moment the Bulldogs but will be too strong. Save the bets for Grand Final day boys!

who are the bulldogs and did they end up winning??

Doesnt say much for the standard of your league if your that rapt to have the pea heart back. Keep him tho coz he's not gonna be missed around here.

On behalf of the Keilor Park Football Club we would like to offer our condolensces to the Roxburgh Park Football Club & the family.

Never nice to hear of a passing at a local football club, especially a player.

All the best!!

Spot on Eidle.

21yo Roxburgh Park midfielder Jellal Sleiman passed away from a suspected asthma attack either Saturday morning or Friday night, and was found yesterday morning by his family.

Absolute tragedy for not only his family, but for Roxburgh Park football club and the EDFL as a whole.

Jellal was a great bloke and a fierce competitor. A brilliant young footballer who was hard at it and could change the game with a single kick off his own boot.

I have played a lot of footy over my years and was only able to play one year with Jellal at Roxy Park in his first year of senior football and he was one of the best young kids I have ever seen step up first year in.

My condolences to his family, team mates and friends. To Roxy Park and all those who knew Jellal. He will not be forgotten and we cant forget those he leaves behind.

haha jett you and potter are mates in guessing. do you'se get ya bikini's waxed together. biggest soft **** i have ever meet. a coward would some him up quite well. he can play a little bit only when his oppenent is a mile behind him. if your club is stupid enough to pay a big girl to play good luck to you hahaha

Like everybody else we were in total shock when we heard the sad news of Jellal's passing. A tragic loss for for his family, friends and all at Roxburgh Park football club. Jellal was a fine young man and a gifted footballer who was liked and respected by all opposition players. Deepest sympathy to all at Roxy and also to his family and many friends.

Committee, Players and supporters of the Airport West Football Club.

You're getting very upset about losing someone that you claim isn't going to be missed??
Sounds more like sour grapes buddy!! If you've got any more 'pea hearts' like Potter at your imploding football club please send them our way. Doesn't say much about your comp if a player would rather travel to Melbourne from Geelong than play near home.....

"History is written for the victors and what they leave out is all about the sheep pumpers known as the Aberfieldie Football Club!!!"

(Rioli is going to be the difference....we have the best junior program...we are so set financially....) Yadda Yadda Yadda

The funniest though was the EDFL presidents meeting earlier this year
John Larkins(Abers president) "What kind of a club do you run?"
Every other clubs presidents answer "I think where pretty much like you, only successful."

Nah not upset mate as he actually has nothing to do with my club, he went to a club thats won the last few wooden spoons in our league coz they were silly enough to offer him big coin. It failed as he's walked out half way thru and there still at the bottom:D

But the funniest part is how he went to his old junior club who are a big shot for the flag this year and asked them what they were gonna give him, then got insulted when they said they'd give him a game! Obviously plays for the cash otherwise why wouldnt he go back to his junior club and try get them there 1st flag in 20 years??? I know why... the envelope wasn't heavy enough. Pea Heart.

Dont worry about our league mate, it's a well known fact that we dont pay the sort of money that leagues like yours spend but where still one of the top 3-4 local leagues in Australia.

Can't comment on the full story about his junior club etc as I don't know. I don't think you can pin the failure of the St Albans on him as I hear they have far reaching problems financially, with their coach and board etc.

Also don't quite get the link between asking for big money and being a 'pea heart', wouldn't think the two things are connected. In fact he walked away from this money you talk about to play in a successful club, which is what I think it was more about....

Not gonna get into a slanging match over leagues as I am well aware that the GFL is as pretty handy. I guess we'll agree to disagree...
