If that's the case why did Van Riet lodge a transfer application to his old club Seymour last night? Check the EDFL clearances page it's there!

Noticed on GVFL site his clearance was refused. Would not imagine Abers boys would welcome him back or maybe I'm wrong.

No one from abers walks around thinking they are the greatest club. All the people involved work hard to try & translate the junior success into senior success. The one ingredient missing from our club is senior success.

I dont recall anyone bagging john barnes...mostly there was hatred and some racism (from funnyman) directed at rioli for no apparent reason.

people from abers gave douttas blokes some of the usual banter. part of the problem is there are far too many abers people on this forum.

we did not ALL suggest we would be strong this year. we expected to improve & to push for finals. reality was we would have expected to be 5th, which is no easy thing when you consider the money being spent above us.

financially we cannot compete for big players - reynolds a case in point as he was interested in abers & then strathmore parked a bucket load of cash. thats the nature of the comp & i dont really have a problem with it.

the player coming in has been trasferred to melbourne because of work. he is a port adelaide magpies 1st player who wants to keep playing footy. not anything to do with money.

abers have played at least 10 U/18 plyers from last year & continue to rotate players from the 2nds. more players given an opportunity than anytime previously.

so what is success - trying to improve your own club or sitting at a computer as a boring, cowardly man in b-grade worrying constantly about abers?

you ought to get on our committee you spend that much time thinking about our problems. hope you dont have a wife she would be bored shitless hearing about abers all the time.

Not a bad thesis there piglet - Eagle 2 does not have a wife he is about 22 - Started at Keilor Park then moved to Abers, then went to Air Port West and then back to Keilor Park...so 3 different clubs at that age with 2 stints at one club is a pretty good effort...has all the characteristics of a dog...except loyalty.

There was no doubt some banter between douttas and abers at the start of the year (you would expect nothing less), but i must say I expected them to do pretty well, maybe not quite this well though.

Funnyman84 is a fair deadshit but very hard to work out who it is - someone who thinks there 'funny' obviously, someone who is racist (fair while back put a whole lot of racist crap on here), someone who is bitter and has a fair agenda to get rid of Rioli, someone who has played most of his footy in the reserves (i know that from private convo's i've had with him) and presumably someone born in 84...well maybe some other Abers people can work it out.

Someone mentioned that there are to many Abers people on here posting,im pretty sure it was an Abers person, just carnt find it to quote, anyway i found this to be the case with us last year DS.

I put it down to frustration and how the team is going, this was definately the case with us and we thought we should be alot better then what we were and as a result it was the DS and Abers thread last season.Dont get me wrong there are a couple of Abers posters on here who i look forward in there posts and thoughts on things but yeah who ever mentioned that there are too many Abers people posting could be right as this was definately the case with us last year and as a result there were a lot of rubbish posts.

THE DREBSTER

Geez whiz there been alot of discussion about Abers here this past week. Can the the Abers boys can bounce back this week against Marby?, I hope that is not the case, everyone at Marby looking foward to this week game, and for Marby to contiune the good form.

THE DREBSTER

Yeah Drebster that was me. A lot of flogs get on here & pump things up on behalf of a club that dont generally reflect the majority view.

There is some agreement btw doutta & abers after all!

Anyway time to move away from the saga at abers and maybe throw some other interesting topics on the table.

Are marby now favourites for a-grade flag behind greenvale? I know a few people who have started having a flutter on them.

And could douttas be the wildcard given they have lost to marby & keilor by only a kick?

So this must mean Doutta's are spending a s**tload on players to be competitive judging by results......

Is this for real?????

Big news if it is............

We got smashed by Marbo Park yesterday in cold conditions.

Bullen killed us across half forward for them and they were just to physical for us.

There is plenty of improvement in the Two blues.

Any other news from weekends matches

From what I hear

Senior and Reserve Coaches had hit the Under 18's Coach in different occasions on saturday over how some of the Under 18 players are Seniors.

The 18's coach had a little bit to drink, and told the Senior Coach to stop taking his boys and even playing injured 18'sat Senior level.

Looks like the Senior and Reserve Head Coaches may go for sure, but 18's coach could stay as he did not retaliate from what I believe.

This week there is an Meeting over the incident.

Isn't Kenny Ingram the U/18's Coach up there?? I can't imagine him not retaliating?? I have a cousin up there who is U18's and been in their Seniors Best players the last few weeks so that part of the rumor is true..

Yeh, he is the under 18's coach.
Kenny Ingram though was extremely drunk. So I don't know, guess we will have to wait and see

i do believe you were smashed on the weekend,

yep, no wife, age is a little off, but boy had fun celebrating a 23 goal to two after qtr time feast

what spin will you lot roll out this week,

pig pumper, thought 5th was the aim, just as well for glenroy i say, you would be in a heap of trouble

  • From what you hear certainly is wrong as I was there and seen it myself.
  • After the senior game the Senior Coach was walking in the social rooms with his 12 year old son and was confronted with an Under 18's Coach that was intoxicated.
  • Words broke out and the under 18's Coach decided to King Hit the Senior Coach. Then the senior Coach defended himself and the Uner 18's Coach came off second best.
  • The intoxicated Reserves Coach then decided to have a go at the Senior Coach and also come out second best.
  • I thought that the Senior Coach did what anyone else would have done if this had happened infront of there child. Everyone has a right to defend themself. The under 18's Coach and Reserves Coach should be ashamed of themselves. VERY WEAK ACT!!!!!!!!!!

I know the three men involved here and i will say this, Gavin Langborne is a mans man, i have never herd Gavin talk behind anyones back, if he has somthing to say about someone, he will say it to their face, straight up! Integrity, honesty and a genuine person somes up the man. Actions speak louder than words, so i think gavin has pretty well done all what needed to be done! If you have nothing good to say about someone, then your best to say nothing!

Judging by your posts, dont think it is just your age keeping you from a wife.

I may be ignorant here, but what game are you referring to? We were about 50 odd points down at qtr time. So according to your maths, we lost by about 170, not the 77 we actually did lose by.

Must admit that Marby were a class above and will definitely challenge GV and Keilor. On a very blustery day, they used the ball so efficiently that made us look second rate for most of the day. They also had a very good team work ethic which stood them in good stead when kicking against the wind. Looking forward to watching these three battle it out come september.

who would not retelaite if a punch has been swung at you - child or no child there. Kenny Ingram has a reputation within the EDFL to start fights at what ever club he is at. Maybe this is why he is never at one club for long periods of time.
I agree with getting rid of him but why would you get rid of your senior coach with 6 more games to go? It appears Craigieburn club is in great disarray. Maybe the committee needs to have a look at the club. the juniors are on a suspended sentence. How much more will the EDFL put up with from such an unprofessional club?

If what i am reading about what happened at Craigieburn is a disgrace. All thought not surprising considering culture is bred from the top, and after what the president did a few weeks back at Greenvale surely only accentuates what a basket case this football club is at the moment. Is a shame as i think everyone was looking for them to use there good junior programs and growing population to become a force in EDFL.

They need to get former greats like Paul Albon etc back to the club ASAP to try and bring it back some respect.

just a thought but how about aflvic make a metro super league just for 1 year then all the teams can go back to their leagues the next year. it would create alot of buzz, big crowds and bragging rights and will squash the theorys of this team is better than this team and so on. instead of having the best 12 teams i think teams from all comps should be in it to be fair, but more from the stronger comps.
EFL balwyn, croydon, vermont
EDFL greenvale, keilor, marby park
NFL heildleberg, northcote park
WRFL spotswood, port colts
SFL st kilda city
BFL sunbury
and could even throw in old xavs and de la salle from the VAFA

Yeh i see where your heading Mero but look what has happened to Basketball after they changed names of teams, and then some teams disappeared, the supporters lost the Passion like some of the Fitzroy & South Melb supporters, the EDFL has never been in a better position as it is right now and it is up to every individual club to keep working hard to compete, yes Greenvales & Marbo have people around their clubs with the $ but that's life, Pascoe Vale are working hard to get into 1st div and others need to do the same. Leave it as it is, we don't need changes as we are building rivalries which brings out the passion in supporters.
