Well now that there is 3 rounds to go the Finals seem to be shaped.
The bottom 3 sides can't make it. Mildura to play the top 3 sides in the their run to the finals need to win all 3 and even then will be hoping for Red Cliffs to drop a game to Merbein or South the last 2 rounds. And if mildura do make it then they definately deserve to be there!
A win this week to Imps sees them secure a spot in the 2nd Semi Final, which will be handy for some players to get over some niggling injuries!
Robinvale need to beat Red Cliffs this week to make sure they are still in the hunt for a Second Semi Final gig, and if Red Cliffs win then it makes the last 2 rounds a formailty for all teams.

Bit of news from down south... former demon boys Glen Gascoyne & Troy Hosking have been doing well of late - both have had ok 1st seasons in the WBFL with Millicent.
'Gassy' had his best game of the year kicking 8 goals against Casterton, while 'Hocko' had his second game back from injury, also named in the best players.
Gascoyne has shown plenty this year for the saints but does'nt quite put games togethor; apparently his game last w/e was something worth watching with strong marking & long kicking.
Hosking has been good for the saints and he shows alot of experience and also knowledge with this emerging Millicent side. Millicent play a season defining match tomorrow when they host North Gambier; if they lose it's curtains maybe...they win against the Mark Tyrell led tigers means there equal with North with an slightly easier last three games.

Yeah big gassy was never consistent maybe in the U18s but not a senior level...
And my guess would be Johnny Jackson by the looks of his had a great yr at his new club

He shows plenty....but lacks consistency; people close too the club know gassy is still very young - experience wise, and he's going to have his up's and downs which supporters tend to forget and not to know especially at a new club. He has a very good bond/admiration for Hosking, who was up there in the top 3 best players for the Millicent saints in a come from behind win over fellow finals aspirant North Gambier.

Imps can't go out of top spot as they are a game plus percentage on top with Wenty and Mildura to come!
Wenty need to win this week to make sure they are in the second semi a game plus percentage above Robinvale and Imps and Irymple to come!
Robinvale two games clear in third but can finish second depending on Imps v Wenty.
Red Cliffs got themselves into a bit of trouble with a loss last week, but with South Mildura and Merbein to come would think that they have fourth spot as they are 2 games clear and percentage!
Irymple are really the only team that can challange Red Cliffs and need to win their last 2 games against Merbein and Wentworth by big margins to gain percentage and even then it might be for nothing!

well yeh time will tell and show jst like every other young player coming throu the ranks of footy. it was good for gassy thou to get up and go was a massive move for the kid and its good to see that his sticking to his guns.
yes hocko was and most likely still is a great player the ruggish but skill-ful gut running on baller... love it

The young fella Nick Couglan for irymple that kicked 17 goals 10 pionts agaisnt merbien and has reached his 100 goals for the season will be hard to keep in sunraysia. How will irymple keep him here???
No chance of keeping this Gun in our league whatsoever!!
Heard that he will end up at Port Melbourne or another club that escapes me at the moment but he will risk the chance to get on any rookie list or being drafted if he is not in Melbourne or Adelaide!!
Mildura is not a place for a player of his calibre to get his due rewards unfortunately!!
By the way well done to both him and Mick on a huge achievement regardless the standard!!
While i am on who will leave what clubs and who will be playing in the sunraysia next year??

i take it your not impressed with the standard of footy here. what do you compare it to?.....
I would say the standard has dropped considerably since i have been here (2002) but wouldn't say that i am not impressed.
This year has been a great year with quiet a few clubs fighting for spots both top and bottom. The clubs have used a lot more juniors this year due to being unable to recruit and the points system. I think this can only be a good think for the league in the future!!
I was more talking about someone of Coughlans age who is possibly good enough if he keeps improving to get on a rookie list or be drafted similar to Nahas of Richmond.
Good luck to the lad and hope the SFL can bring in more like him.

So whats news on the coaching postions. Is Connick going again, will Trev Ryan concentrate on the AFL gig, Merbein???
Could be alot of changes around the league.
Believe it's up to Trevor if he has the time to coach South or they will be on the hunt.
Hear Mildura are looking as connick only wants to play
Is the D train going again, I hear maybe not.
Merbien will be looking for a coach and 10 players
Alvey will have the job again if he wants it or bell will step up to be non playing coach.
Robinvale will be throwing everything at Troy to continue but depends how long he will be out for and if he wants to travel again.
So really only Walder and petrie will be back next year ATM
