Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Its 107,000 if they've played an AFL Game.

61,000 if they haven't.

Thats how I thought it was.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Next Tuesday

Delistings aren't finished until Friday, then the round 1 first deadline is Tuesday and round 2's first deadline a week later after the PSD. Round 1 may be ready to go on Friday night but the deadlines don't start until Tuesday

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Cant wait for the draft but seeing how i had to clean out this list cos there was so many delisting. I now have a large amount of draft picks and the probelm i have is i dont think the picks in the 100s should get 2 yr contracts is there anyway this can change

That rule's based around the AFL rule, but since the number of players being paid out by AFL clubs after a year is increasing, will make those players free delistings as of next year. Recycles don't have to be on 2 year deals, rookies it's up to you whether you want to take that risk

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Russian could we get the following information updated for the draft? Thanks. I'm guessing by 'second year' it means a player who is a 2nd year AFL player, rather then a player who has been on our lists for 2 years?

Salaries
There is a salary cap of $7,500,000 for season 2008.
Fixed salaries 2007
First round, first year: $77,000
First round, second year: $107,000
Second round, first year: $65,000
Second round, second year: $86,000
Other round or later, first year: $60,000
Other round or later, second year: $75,000
Promotion from a rookie list who has not played AFL football: $70,000
Promotion from a rookie list who has played AFL football: $90,000
Rookie listed players: $30,000

2nd year TM player. i.e. guys like Jarrod Atkinson, Rhys Magin and Jared Petrenko are considered 1st year players. This will all be explained in the draft thread

The rest of those prices you mention are already on the picks. If you want the 2010 second year prices, no they need a bit of number crunching at the end of the year to work out.

Ah, OK, looking forward to it, cheers.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Back to the cousins contract i think it should be a minimum of 2 yrs cos in the post it says the player pool is below Ben Cousins is not in that pool and next to the draft picks you have 2yrs So i think it is fair to assume that his length would be the same as a rookie or player picked up in the PSD. ect Liam Jurrah

If he isn't on the list wouldn't it be fair to assume he doesn't fit into the same category? As Russian posted in the draft thread:

Player pool is available below. If you do not say otherwise when you post your pick, the shortest contract allowed for that player will be given.

Cousins isn't a first year player, so his minimum contract is one year, just like all the other experienced players we recruited throughout the trade period.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Well he wasnt in the players pool. So in the group $107,000 1-5yrs it should of had "non-rookies redrafted" under that heading due to the fact it had nothing for these sorts of players it should of been pointed out when i drafted rather then just say it only 1 yr

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

I think you're in the right only recruiting him for one year anyway.

Very risky pick.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Jarryn Geary promoted to senior list, Beau Waters onto LTI list.

Move this if you must Russian can't remember where it should go.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated October 07)

Russian just got a question for you. On the team list page it looks like some teams have gone over the salary cap and are in the red will these team have anything done to them.

I just looked and saw that my team is in red . I'm pretty certain that is incorrect though, as it is based on the assumption I'd take four rookies, and I only selected three.

I'd just like to point out that in the team lists thread my first rookie selection, Tom Allwright, is listed under Coburg's list instead of mine.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated January 09)

My team is red too:eek:

Russian, I distinctly remember double checking my salaries with you before the rookie draft to see how much salary cap I had left after a number of salaries had been changed during the off-season.

From our discussions I was able to pick 3 rookies. I don't understand how I can possibly be over the salary cap after taking so much care in making sure the salaries were ok :(

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated January 09)

Southern Stingrays would like to offically apply for a name change for Season 2010 and be called Richmond Tigers.

Re: AFL Team Manager Rules (updated January 09)

Richmond Tigers...catchy... where'd you pull that one from :p

Not a bad idea though with the final 9 finals system haha
