I have only played online (FIFA09) 5 or so times but haven't had any issues whatsoever with lag, so lucky.

Even the slightest lag (very common in AUS) can ruin a game. Largely why i have avoided online, unless im pissed, or with a mate lol. All the serious players are in europe, cus they are provided a platform to perform at their best.

this is my first fifa on the ps3, ive been playing it on pc for years.. so yeah.. arena is fun

How you finding it, im in the same position as you, migrating from the PC to the PS3 though i still think ill be playing the PC platform as well. 5-6 of my high school mates play it on the PC as well and we have our own annual tournaments... sad but its fun

Got one, its a disadvantage because the analogue sticks are squared, whereas the playstation analogue stick is a perfect circle, allowing you to do proper tricks n such. With the logitech controller, its harder to do the tricks with the edges, i got no problems doing the tricks with the arrow keys n the left shift button

I'll be downloading it later tonight.

But it would seem that the game is either going to be shocking, or the demo is just way different to what the end product is because it is (apparently) as buggy as hell. This is from the 1st day that the demo was out and there have been several awful bugs (Hilarious bugs too) check them out.

One thing I've noticed with PES has been that it's always been way behind anything that FIFA has been doing. All we see from gameplay demo's is that the animations/dribbling, etc. etc. is yet to be put into the game where as with FIFA there has barely been any excuses and their showing everything off as it is. No "Oh that will be put in later down the line". How can you sell a game on unseen expectations when your competitor is showing it off and showing it off well?

For mine PES is still going to be another year or 2 away from reaching FIFA and is still building to it's former glory.

Yeah I agree with those points about PES. I have played a few games it just feels really...this sounds dumb but, uncomfortable to play. It feels really rigid and awkward but maybe I just need to give it more time or wait till the full version comes out. Just it seems really delayed in passing/shooting, dribbling isnt that great, AI isn't as intelligent as FIFA, i had a go at top player and regular and it felt the same, just seems everything is delayed and you don't have that control as in fifa. It looks nicer this year, a few things I do like such as showing Gerrard or Messi, as in the like key players or whatever.

I'm a huge pro evo fan. Last years felt way better than the demo. I don't know why they wouldn't implement the proper engine etc. seems pointless to me. Fifa is definetly miles ahead.

Just played the PES demo. And it is shocking.

Didn't like it at all.

Agree with Freofan_Mundy about how it really feels awkward to play. Very cumbersome and really feels overly heavy too. I think the 360 dribbling is in the demo but it doesn't feel close to FIFA's. Every little move you make seems to be a lot more of a jump than a slight move that you get in FIFA, you can definitely see that it was a really late inclusion this year.

The graphics are nice from far away but up close look shoddy. Unpolished work makes it look a bit ametuer (Looking at the players you can see the polygons smattered across the faces). The grass is like former AFL games in that it has no definition and is just flat, whereas FIFA has grass that is visible. All adds to the extra immersion and feel of the game.

Overall in comparison to FIFA. PES just feels really unpolished. Where FIFA feels like it is really strong in every aspect of the on-field action. PES just feels shoddy, old and lacks a lot of work. Won't be picking it up.

Just by looking at PES i could tell it belonged in an arcade somewhere, or in the corner of a laundromat somewhere, for the kiddies.

FIFA is the true soccer simulation fan's game.
