He is signed for two more seasons...you will have to give more then your second rounder.

Well, pick 11 is well and truly off the table. I'd be more than happy to package #27 + Shaun Grigg to get the deal done. Or you could have #27 & Brad Fisher, who could quite easily contribute 35-45 goals a year for the Bulldogs, particularly with their midfield. Or you could have #27 + Setanta O'Hailpin - another tall you could add to your forward line.

Don't see why we would trade a contracted 193cm tall who is just starting to find his feet. Denham's article is a load of shit

Andrew Walker, straight swap for Everitt (would much prefer to keep Grigg and the draft picks)

Anyone who suggests trading Big Irish can go to hell btw :D

Walker? Wtf would we need or want Walker?

Well I can't honestly think we've got any other players on the trade table that the Dogs would want, and the club won't be willing to part with pick 11 either ...

Grigg is off the table people. He is only 21 and had an injury interupted season. He was amassing 30+ touches with ease at the end of 08, could delvelop into a Daniel Cross type mid IMO.

The doggies were interested in O'hAlpin last year so either him or fish with our second rounder is the most I would be giving up for this "speculative" talent.

No point giving away Browne or Grigg or any other young talent that could make us live to regret the trade.

He's twice the player Everitt is.

And FWIW we wouldn't do that trade. Its just C_P doesn't really like or rate Walker.

Regardless of how you rate your players, Walker would have no value for us.

Then Carlton will struggle obtaining a contracted player.

Name me one star we have drafted outside of pick one since Fevola?
Waite?
Jamison?
Betts?
Stevens?
Joseph?

Start a new thread to get shot down in and don't derail this one. :thumbsu:

What are the Bulldogs' ruck stocks like? Obviously Hudosn is there No.1 ruckman, with Minson in the mix also. I just wonder if we packaged #27 & Sam Jacobs, who could get more game time at the Doggies, which allows Minson to play as a more permanent forward.

Thats actually not a bad idea.

Stops us from entertaining any notion of trading Hampson to the GC next year, and we are also giving away a second rounder...

Not sure if it would suit us in the long term.

No thanks,

Rucks are a premium atm.

We need to Market hamma this year and trade him at the end of the season. He will command a 400k+ salary from someone and that is too much to spend on a third/second ruck.

We can't have in 3/4 years
Kreuzer-650k
Warnock-450k
Hamma-450k

Much rather have Jacobs at 250k as second ruck than hamma at 450k (plus the high pick we get for hamma)

Anyway back on topic ;)

The article indicates the Bulldogs have offered him up to us. So the contracted situation seems like it wont come into play and they are keen to trade obviously for the right price. I cant believe people are offering Grigg up in addition to 27. Grigg is a much better prospect that Everitt man for man, why would we give up such a talented midfielder. Would 27 get the job done? Easily in fact 3rd rounder and fisher would be more like it, or 3rd rounder and irish. Perhaps 27 and fisher and we get their 3rd rounder and they get our 4th rounder.....Whatever the go it certainly wont be Grigg or Walker and Im not convinced he's what we need but to be fair I ahvent seen alot of him though I would love to think he is what we need....Still keen on chasing Barry though.

This is the first player the Blues have actually said they'd be interested in. All the other players mentioned were media-based fabrications. For the right price, Everitt would be a good addition to our list. Has height, athleticism, and X-factor - attributes that suit our style of play better than the Bulldogs. We'll probably offer pick 27 and someone like Fisher. Might need to trade up pick 27 somehow. It'll be messy. Swan has said pick 11 is off the table. Think the Bulldogs are sensible enough to know if we say "pick 11 is off the table" it IS off the table, and they won't waste time haggling over the point like Freo did last year. If they can get a near pick 11 off someone else they should just take it. We'll offer then a decent deal but there's limits.

There is an interesting twist to this deal. Everitt is IN contract. And the Bulldogs have salary cap pressure. These 2 facts work in our favour. Everitt can refuse to be traded, and stay on the Bulldogs list if he wants to and the Bulldogs can do nothing about it. If he wants to go to Carlton, then we don't need to overpay, because the Dogs need salary cap pressure relief. For Swan to have made those comments, I suspect the Blues have already had a chat with Everitt and they're confident he'd like to play at the Blues. We could get a bargin here. :)

Pure lies. He's never got 30 possessions in a match.

LOL @ anyone who believes this dribble. Obviously we told you the price for Spangher, they said they didnt like it and are now pretending to move on to lower the price. The games people play in trade week...

Unfortunately the Dogs have a salary cap problem...particularly if Barry Hall lines up for you.
That's my line of thinking too.

Grigg is more Ryan Griffen than Cross.

Without Griffen's poise, decision making and class disposal...

I can see Grigg replacing Eagleton in their 22 if the rumours about Akermanis, Eagleton and Welsh getting squeezed due to money are true.

Grigg would suit their attacking game plan and come cheaper than Eagleton.

Everitt would give us an athletic tall who would cover for Waite.

Could be a win-win trade if we can pull it off.
