Just got one today and along with itunes, it's completely ****ed up the way my mp3's were organized on my pc. Itunes has moved all my songs around and created individual files for each one that's not part of an album. Even complilations like soundtrack cd's have been split up by creating a file for each song artist. I'm pretty pissed off right now because I've had a few hundred individual mp3's that were in files for whatever year they came out.

I'm trying to convert the ringtones and message alerts from my old phone that were in mp3 format and it's creating individual files for each one too. This is really annoying because they're mostly sounds from movies and tv shows. I'm trying to convert about 15 sounds and it's creating 15 files for each one whereas I just simply want them in a file called "Ringtones"!

Is there anyway to fix it so itunes asks me to create a folder whenever I rip cd's or convert mp3's?

Officially no, but there's a workaround.

Pretty much what you expect from last.fm - streams recommended music as radio, artist info, similar artists, automatically scrobbles the songs you've listened to, has your profile info etc...

The only buggy thing is that the events tab won't work since it only shows US/Canada dates.

Re foreign app stores, you can always get a foreign iTunes voucher, eg. from Amazon or eBay, although there's probably a simpler way.

During the last week I have downloaded the Occasions application (v1.1.2). It grabs birthdays and anniversaries from your Contacts list, but also allows you to create Custom Entries for people you don't have a contact for, say a friend's child's birthday. Occasions includes bade counts and push notification alerts. Also has a good search facility where you search by occasion (birthday, anniversary, other) or by name.

Version 2 will be released within a month and will include the ability to pull birthdays from Facebook.

I'm paranoid about one thing though - roaming charges. I'm with 3 on a plan where I get 1 gig of data per month but apparently these roaming charges are not included in this 1 gig and cost 50c/mb extra.

Is it possible to disable web browsing/ and downloading when I'm in a roaming zone to not pay any extra costs? I've heard people who have been charged $100s for surfing a few websites here and there!

I'm with 3 mobile and I wouldn't be worried.

Just make sure you install Andrew Harrison's 3 carrier bundle:

Ha ha I did about 1200 bucks coz the ******s at Optus didnt put me on an I Phone specific plan when they were supposed to upon me upgrading...

An Access Point. You can set it to 3services or 3netaccess. There are a couple of situations where you should use one over the other.

Yeah that should also work. But I think that would also mean that if you do not have 3 network coverage, then not only will you not roam for data, but you also won't roam for voice, thus, you wouldn't be able to make or receive any phone calls.

I seem to have got the phone to locate the network, the network name has a tick next to it on the Wi-Fi Networks screen, but the 3G status icon on the top bar doesnt get replaced with the Wi-Fi one.

Having said that, as I sit here it just did very briefly before going back to 3G.

Does this mean its not actually connected somehow?

Any suggestions?

Try opening Safari. The wifi might be connected, but not active yet. Make it use the internet will get it going.

At least mine does that.

Did you put in your Network security key? If you don't, it will stay ticked and show the signal strength, but not be able to connect.

I've got security set to WEP and put the password in...

Pretty sure the password is correct.

I couldn't find Cellular Data Network under settings - general - network. I just have 3G, data roaming, internet tethering, VPN and wi-fi.

What fireware do you guys use to JB? I wanna play Fifa 10!

Still trying to crack this.....

I've just turned off MAC flitering on the router, and the phone connected perfectly.

Something must be wrong with the password, but I'm certain it's right as I wrote in the router manual, and if I try anything else it says "Cannot connect to network" straight away.
